hello im new here, and i didnt use the search function , so, im sorry if this is repetitive

i was wondering if anyone here uses godfather quotes in real life situaton? mostly the less obvious ones...

example...couple weeks ago this girl was breaking up with me, and while she was talkin and talkin the scene with Kay and Mikey in the hotel came to me and i used most of the lines he used on Kay, trying to keep her...while i just substituted the obvious..
line for line i just kept going...for a minute i thought she was having a change of heart, but naw, i got dumped..

but, i felt i kept my dignity..

i was wondering if anyone else incorporates lines from the films into their daily dialogue

im going into the kitchen to listen to some Tony Bennett records.

That´s kinda freaky, isen´t it??

Maybee you should consider laying of the movies for a while..

but when i come to think about, there was this one time
i used a movie quote irl, my self.
I was in my local Libary, and the libarien (an old grumphy lady) told me that i owed some money, for delivering a book to late...
I took my hand in my pocket, and found a handfull of pennies (or kroner, as we called it in Denmark), and throw em on desk, while saying "Keep the change, you filthy animal"... she then stared strangly at me and continiued her work..
kinda funny, or at least for me..

I don't know nothin'. I don't see nothin'. I don't hear nothin'. When I do I don't tell the cops. Understand?

My wife and I both love GF and tend to incorporate some of the lines into our conversation.

Some examples off the top of my head...

"They might," delivered with Tom Hagen inflection, when discussing possibilities.

"That is a complete falsehood" when disagreeing about a fact.

When my wife was pregnant and had strange food requests, she would justify by channelling Enzo. "For da nipper. For da nipper."

I've often thought of trying to end arguments by slashing my arms and yelling "OVER!" but I don't think she'd find that so amusing.

I have used many godfather lines, my favorite being the line Michael used on Carlo when he told him his refusal to fess up "Will make me angry and insult my intelligence." I have also adopted the Tom Hagen tactic of complimenting potential adversaries (as he did with Woltz) by telling them "By the way, I admire your work very much."

"Io sono stanco, sono imbigliato, and I wan't everyone here to know, there ain't gonna be no trouble from me..Don Corleone..Cicc' a port!"

"I stood in the courtroom like a fool."

"I am Constanza: Lord of the idiots."

When Mr. Babe and I were first married (I apologize in advance if I have shared this story), he and I had a fight while I was cooking dinner. I had set the table and put out the food, saying (OK, yelling), Here's your dinner! As I said that, I slammed down a new bottle of soda on the table. It promptly exploded up and outwards, all over the table, the walls, and even I think the ceiling. Mr. Babe just looked at me and said, Now clean it up, you spoiled guinea brat! The two of us got hysterical laughing, and the argument quickly ended.

there are many other quotes i tend to use..such as..

being at a place to eat and i always say "try the...its the best in the city"

whenever someone is talking to me, whether it be a friend or a a girl that might be talking a lil too much and becoming monotnous... i always come back with the "..there was this kid i grew up with..." speech. just to break the boredom. it doesnt go over so well.

"just help me win" i use alot.

Well nothing like the Godfather to relieve a little marital tension.

I use GF lines all the time. Really random ones that are not necessarily pivotal to the story.

At parties when people ask me about my work, I often say, "Never ask me about my business, Kay." In situations I recall saying on several occasions, "Can't do it, Sally," and I've referred to my "Kraut-Mick friends."

I went to my friend's hundredth birthday last week. Someone at my table said make a toast and I said "Cent' anni". They all stared at me like those dogs looking into the speaker in the RCA records logo. Damn, when will I ever get a chance to use that again.

You desecrated a classic film. This is worse than "Godfather III."

All right, all right, I'm sorry.

Whenwever I make spaghetti sauce, I say to whomever is around (and that usually is my wife who found it funny the first 50 times) "Come here kid, learn something, you might have to feed fifty guys someday."

When revising our engineering work I tell my coworker; "I want you to use all your power and all your skills....I don't want the boss to the job like this."

LOL. The other day I received an email from a client with an update on the deal I'm working on. I told him that I was on top of it, and he jokingly replied, I think you're slippin. And without even thinking, I fired back, Like Vito just before Sollozzo's men shot him. I had never discussed the movie with him, and sort of worried about it afterwards, but it turns out he's a huge fan of The Godfather and said that my reply made his day.

Hi
I run a sales training company and we hold three day sales training seminars all over Europe. The other day, one of my guys had double booked us and I knew I was going to have to take the course even though I rarely do any of that now. He came to me and said, "Dave, I have made a big mistake. I have booked a seminar for a company but I didnt check the diary. I can't cover the final day. Is there any way you could do it? I'm really sorry and I wouldn't ask you but...'
I looked at him and and said: "Ok. I will do this for you. It's my company and I wont let anyone down. I will cover the last day for you but watch the diary next time, ok?"
He nodded, and then I followed up with: "Someday, and that day may never come, I'll call upon you to do a service for me."
"No problem, thanks Dave."

It works!!
