What about Furio's return? Possible? Maybe he and Carmela?

David Chase has said Furio won't be back, I don't think the ending will be too far fetched, probably more along the lines of continuing what's going on now.

Maybe Tony is going to get assassinated but right before the hit goes down the FBI arrests him.

I've always had a wierd feeling about the guy, but remember the last episode of season six, when Tony visits Phil in the hospital, and he sees this guy, who obviously works for Phil and the guy says in a mocking tone, "We gotta stop meeting like this." Tony gives him a disgusted look, and I've always felt that, maybe, that guy would be the one who ends up killing Tony. But I hope that doesn't happen!!!

Yeah, I remember that guy. You could be onto something. I'm compelled to think that the finale will be something we'd never expect. But, I kind of hope that Chase injects some morality into the series by having Tony get his comeuppance.

I watched the first three seasons of The Sopranos, but haven't seen a single episode since. Has the quality remained the same since season 3?

Actually, I know lots of ppl who watched from the beginning and stopped watching around season 3. They lost interest and don't find the series as entertaining anymore.

As for me, I feel that the series has evolved and has indeed gotten better w/ age!

I don't believe that will happen. If they kill off Tony, then that closes the door for a possible theatrical movie release somewhere down the road.

Yeah, which is why RIGHT BEFORE the hit is going to go down, Tony gets arrested.

What if it ended with an unseen gunshot ? A who shot J.R. for the 21st century.

Nah, that would suck.

I have a feeling that all the series unanswered questions will end with a movie. Chase has made it public that he'd do it (make a film), and a Sopranos film would likley garner many awards and make a decent killing at the Box Office. That is enough to entice HBO to make one, maybe two!

I'd go see the movie.

But as far a series finale goes, either Tony gets his comeuppance or he doesn't. I can't see it going any other way. I guess the anticipation is over how he'll get that comeuppance or how he'll avoid it.

I'd without a doubt see a Sopranos movie!!

Just another thought about an ending, what do you make of the situation with the 2 guys who work with Christopher in getting credit card numbers, whom Tony thinks are/were Al Quadas?? Maybe this has to do with Agent Harris being transferred to anti-terrorism??

Why is Chase ending the show anyway, theres always enough storylines for him to concentrate on..He could carry the show on for at least 5-10 years.

I've heard that Chase is just growing too "bored" so to speak with the show. He wants to move on. But I do agree, with all the downtime in between seasons, we could have been looking at a season eight right now with many more to come...

I think it might end with Agent Harris working alongside the DiMeo family against Phil Leotardo. He did warn Tony that Phil was looking to whack someone in his hierarchy. Why would an FBI agent who has been hunting down Tony for years slip him that information? This season could involve terrorism too, since those two arab guys are always at the Bing, they could working with Al-Queada. Should be interesting!

FBI agents are obligated to inform people when they intercept such information, but the Arab thing sounds interesting.

My big wish for the final season is a war between Phil and Tony. Some surprising whacks or turn of events always happen on the Sopranos...only 36 days...I'm pumped!

Curious to see when HBO puts out a preview for the upcoming season, I mean 35 days left...only a little more than a month. Maybe Chase is trying to keep it a secret...?

BDuff, you mean a preview or a trailer? Because they have a trailer on youTube, but its only a teaser. It only shows Tony reflecting upon everything, with various voices in his head. BUt yes, I would like to see a preview with some scenes from part two in it.

What if it doesn't end end? I mean what If Chase decides to make the last episode just another episode with no dramatic finale such as we all have speculated about with all of our questions (such as who was that lady in the dream sequence) left unanswered.

I wouldn't put it past him, and, if it's a good "end", I'd be all for it. Not with a bang, but a whimper. He's done it before, and it usually pisses a lot of people off, but I'd kind of like a "Life goes on" finale.

I didn't want to start another thread, but how did Vito make Captain? I'm watching a rerun in which Vito is a construction contractor related apparently to Richie. Remember, he's putting in a ramp for Beansie. Did I miss where he becomes a friend of ours?
