While you have made several valid points here, there are a couple of things I have to disagree with. For example:

I have to agree with you on this point because I cannot argue with you when you say that you are currently watching this god-aweful piece of garbage on tv! And since you have succeeded in getting your daughter quite interested in the sinking, she is NATURALLY curious about the movie!

I agree with you that the technical feats of the film are enjoyable when it sticks to the facts, but where I had a problem was with the spelling of "fabricated". I asked myself "was that the correct way to spell 'fabricated'"? After I picked my brain for several minutes I looked it up, and to my surprise you were right on the definition of ' fabricated '! I felt so foolish.

Was this really the case? Was it?

Now this is where I COMPLETELY disagree with you! How could Michael POSSIBLY follow through with his assasination of the suicide with nothing but a torque wrench? This just doesn't seem universally possible! Please explain further!

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER....you mean that very accurate movie where the Titanic that bobbed up, and then sank without actually breaking into two?

Right....

I think I already said I love TITANIC. I do not consider the love story to be a crappy thing. Who on earth can tell for sure a love story did not occur during the cruise? And, most of all, who cares?
If historical accuracy is what you need, go and watch a documentary. We uncurable romantic people stick to the dream. And happily so.

Whenever ppl ask me if I'm familiar with the Titanic disaster, I always ask: "Which one? the 1912 or the 1997?"

Titanic is a single movie franchise of what SEEMS to be a movie but rather is a silly lavish production and another stain Hollywood was better off without. Hell, Cameron was a genius for making that film. He knew what would profit and he did just that. that was his little payback at all those figures who thought he'll never make it. Fact is, he made a much better film UNDER water with the UNDERrated The Abyss than the OVER water OVERrated Titanic. Needless to say the first 2 Terminators beat both movies in a heartbeat.

Masterpiece? more like a Suckerpiece. Even Victor Newman from the young and the restless looked bad in Titanic, and he usually kicks ass

It wasn't a great film, but it was better than aither of the Posiedon Adventures

Well, DT is right. POSEIDON from this summer wasn't just a piece of shit, it was the biggest financial turkey of the year. Really a bad summer for Warner Brothers, after Shymalan's LADY IN THE WATER drowned and SUPERMAN RETURNS didn't exactly swoop people up(oh well, its still a nice movie).

I'll agree with Fame on one thing. THE ABYSS is underrated(especially in its extended Special Edition edit) and I have to say, I got alot more from it than TITANIC.

Still, who else laughs when the CGI man falls and hits the propeller?

Tilt!

You know its funny, i think about all the people i know how say they hate the movie "Titanic," and they all seem to be the ones who lined up 3 or 4 times to watch the movie. I wonder if it may be true on here as well.

And you call me preachy?

Also, age doesn't excuse anything.

I paid to see ARMAGGEDON, when I was 13...and I still wonder how many AIDS kids in Africa I could have saved with that burned $7.

You want a fight, then back down.

Its official. You're a pussy. Hand over your balls to the authorities, so the state can assist in men wanting to fight for their opinions.

The Abyss? You know what, Fame? If I'm to think of a punishment, having someone to watch The Abyss is a good one. I think watching the Abyss and staying awake is an heroic gesture!

I'm a fan of Victor Newman since 1980 or so. And he was perfect in both roles!

Mr. Soprano, I do believe you are being a jerk. Can't you stop flapping your trap for 2 seconds? You originally started all this with your comment over on the Double-J thread... You know which one I'm talking about - the senseless "i see you continue being original rra" insult.

I don't blame Ronnie for becoming ill-tempered. I presume I would also be agitated with the way you have been acting!

well sface, you obviously don't know the situation, so maybe you should stop your gums from slapping.

His Davinci code comment was a reference to a huge blowout we had last time...so do yourself a favour and don't comment on what you don't know about.

The absence of certain people has made these boards far more enjoyable this past week. Perhaps these bickering members need a little taste of that medicine.

Whats funny is, Billy Zane got the part of the asswipe upper-lip socialcrat rich snob after Michael Biehn turned it down. Biehn as an aristocrat?

That's like Ahhhnuld Schwarzenegger as a "brilliant" professor in BATMAN & ROBIN. Its beyond retarded.
