Quote:
MADRID—Seeking to reestablish Spain's global dominance after centuries of diminished empire, Spanish King Juan Carlos proclaimed yesterday his intention to unleash a mighty fighting force of conquistadores to reconquer, convert, enslave, and exploit the native populations of the Western Hemisphere.

Ships borrowed from a Barcelona theme park embark on the mission.

"On this day we set sail for the New World to reclaim what is rightfully ours, and any savage who opposes us shall be either chained or broken in our name," Juan Carlos told the slightly confused crowd of Madrid citizens gathered under threat of death outside the Placio Imperiatus, formerly the Banco Madrid. "All shall bow their heads to Spain and Christ or lose them!"

"Be warned, peoples of the Americas, for the Reino Imperio de España comes to wreak havoc upon your heads and bring you under the yoke of Christ, God save you," he added.

Juan Carlos issued an Imperial decree to build an "unstoppable" naval fleet of some 130 ships constructed from the "finest timbers felled from the grandest forests of Christendom," the likes of which, according to Spanish lore, "has not been espied on the high seas since the glory days of the 16th century."

Upon reaching the New World, the "Nueva Conquistadores" are entreated to establish military strongholds in such strategic ports as Havana, Santo Domingo, Port-au-Prince, Caracas, and Miami and use gleaming armor and mastery of gunpowder to convince locals that they are demigods. The invading forces will then "completely annihilate" native industrial sectors and "place the natives under the whip," forcing them to toil for gold to finance Spain's continued expansion.

"Cowardly brutes of the New World: Prepare for either salvation and servitude or hell on earth!" Juan Carlos intoned into an ornate red and gold megaphone before the largely silent crowd.

The Grande y Felicisima Armada Invencible, armed with an arsenal of cannons and muskets, is expected to subdue the area's estimated 500 million residents—more than 10 times the population of Spain itself—with "sheer force and the purifying flame of the Lord" sometime next spring, when the three-masted ships complete their arduous journey across the Atlantic.

Analysts say that Spain, with a standing army of 86,000 and one of the smallest military budgets in Western Europe, will face significant challenges in its rise to empire.

"It remains to be seen how the highly organized information- and service-based economy of the Bahamas will adapt to brutal conquest and forced labor," said University of Chicago political science professor Thomas Osbourne. "But the Spanish do have centuries of experience, so they should not be underestimated."

Imperial Spanish heralds say Juan Carlos was excited by reports that even the humblest citizens of the New World regularly walked around wearing jewels and solid gold, and lived in simple wooden structures known as "ranch houses," which could easily be put to the torch.

The imperial statement confirmed that Spain, whose economy currently ranks near the top 10 in Europe, would renew its search for the long-lost Fountain of Youth, believed to lie 50 miles west of popular tourist destination Kissimmee-St. Cloud.

"If the Armada's voyage is successful it would vastly increase Imperial Spain's land holdings, as well as give them complete control of Mexico's growing industrial centers and, presumably, the hospitality economies of the Caribbean, thrusting the new empire to the forefront of the world stage," said Katherine Tooley of the policy think tank the Heritage Foundation. "They might even land a seat on the U.N. Security Council."

Secretary Of State Condoleezza Rice said if attacked, the U.S. could not rule out retaliation through deployment of its 500,000 active naval personnel, 278 seafaring combat vessels, and more than 4,000 aircraft including, the F-4 and F-18 model fighter jets. "We are more than willing to sit down and listen to Spain's demands, but the last thing anyone wants is to get involved in a protracted military action," Rice said. "Or even a relatively short military action."

Meanwhile, Pope Benedict has urged King Carlos to show mercy in his dealings with the inhabitants of the Western Shores, at least until negotiations can be finalized to peaceably divide the region between Spain and its equally ambitious neighbor state, the Exalted Second Empire of Portugal.

"Growing up my dad was like 'You have a great last name, Galifianakis. Galifianakis...begins with a gal...and ends with a kiss...' I'm like that's great dad, can we get it changed to 'Galifianafuck' please?" -- Zach Galifianakis

All I can think of is that episode of the Simpsons when Side Show Bob is flying the Wright Bros. plane and the jets can't lock target because he's moving so slow, so they get out and walk to try and catch him

All I think of is La Reconquista, the Mexican effort to re-take 'stolen land' through illegal immigration.

Mexican aliens seek to retake 'stolen' land

THE WASHINGTON TIMES
April 16, 2006

DENVER -- La reconquista, a radical movement calling for Mexico to "reconquer" America's Southwest, has stepped out of the shadows at recent immigration-reform protests nationwide as marchers held signs saying, "Uncle Sam Stole Our Land!" and waved Mexico's flag.
Even as organizers urged marchers to display U.S. flags, the theme of reclaiming "stolen" land remained strong. One popular banner read: "If you think I'm illegal because I'm a Mexican, learn the true history because I'm in my homeland."
"We need to change direction," said Jose Lugo, an instructor in Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder at a campus march last week. "And by allowing these 50,000, 50 million [immigrants] to come in here, we can do that."
The revolutionary tone has surprised even longtime immigration watchers such as Ira Mehlman, the Los Angeles-based spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
"I've always been skeptical myself about this [reconquista], but what I've seen over the last few weeks leads me to believe that there's more there than I thought," Mr. Mehlman said.
"You're seeing people marching with Mexican flags chanting, 'This is our country.' I don't think that we can dismiss this as youthful exuberance or a bunch of hotheads," he said.
Hispanic rights leaders insist there's nothing to the so-called reconquista, sometimes referred to as Aztlan, the mythical ancestral homeland of the Aztecs that reportedly stretches from the border to southern Oregon and Colorado.
Nativo Lopez, president of the Mexican American Political Association in Los Angeles, one of the march organizers, was infuriated when a reporter asked him about the reconquista.
"I can't believe you're bothering me with questions about this. You're not serious," Mr. Lopez said. "I can't believe you're bothering with such a minuscule, fringe element that has no resonance with this populous."
At the same time, some analysts say the seismic demographic shifts brought on by unchecked border crossings and birth rates are resulting in a de facto reconquista.
"Demographically, socially and culturally, the reconquista of the Southwest United States by Mexico is well under way," Harvard University professor Samuel P. Huntington said in 2004.
"No other immigrant group in U.S. history has asserted or could assert a historical claim to U.S. territory. Mexicans and Mexican-Americans can and do make that claim," he said.

WASHINGTON - It received little coverage in the mainstream news dailies, but many bloggers highlighted the significant influence of “Reconquista” advocates and concepts in the recent pro-immigration marches across the country. Reconquista aims must be honestly confronted by all sides if the immigration debate is to be honestly conducted and credibly resolved.

The first thing to understand about Reconquista is that while it is perhaps not the official policy of Mexico, it might as well be. Current and former top Mexican government officials and advisers, for example, along with leaders of U.S. groups like the National Council of La Raza, the League of United Latin American Citizens and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, routinely co-host seminars of the Foundation for Solidarity of Mexico and America, according to Hector Carreon of the Aztlan Communications Network. The basic aim of FSMA, which is a key convergence point of open-borders advocacy in both countries, is uninterrupted immigration from Mexico to the U.S.

“Aztlan” is the ancient Aztec word for the lands of California, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico, which more radical Hispanic activists have long claimed were stolen by “gringos” from Europe and that are now to be retaken via massive immigration that eventually produces Hispanic majorities at all levels of governance. But whether expressed more moderately by groups such as FSMA or more radically by explicitly separatist voices like MEChA, Aztlan is the animating spirit of the Reconquista movement. That spirit is reflected in remarks like this by a former California state secretary of health, education and welfare: “California is going to be a Hispanic state. Anyone who doesn’t like it should leave.”

Behind such calls looms the dismal Mexican economy, which, as author and historian Victor Davis Hanson notes in the latest Claremont Review of Books, desperately needs the flow of workers to the U.S. because they send an estimated $10 billion to $15 billion back home annually. Plus, there are the immense costs shifted from Mexico to our education, health care and law enforcement systems that must serve the needs of the waves of immigrants, legal and illegal. Those of us living north of the border are thus subsidizing corruption south of the border that enables Mexican politicians and their wealthy friends and family members to live the good life without being held accountable for the millions of Mexicans who suffer grinding poverty and hopelessness.

President Bush should call upon President Vicente Fox and other Mexican political leaders to disavow the Reconquista movement explicitly and to adopt much-needed reforms to expand economic opportunity and spread the wealth more widely in their nation. And Congress should reiterate in law and regulation that, while we will always welcome the world’s huddled masses, those who immigrate to America are expected to become Americans.

To do otherwise is to risk growing in the U.S. precisely the same sort of fevered separatism that now racks France and Germany.

Reconquista: the Invasion of America
http://home.cfl.rr.com/raykania/reconquista.html

The American Southwest “...seems to be slowly returning to the jurisdiction of Mexico without firing a single shot." July 20, 1982, Carlos Loret de Mola, The Great Invasion: Mexico Recovers Its Own, Excelsior [newspaper], Mexico City

There is a plan, called The Plan Of Aztlan, that's been in effect for about four decades. The goal, being pursued vigorously by radical, racist Chicano (Mexican-American) groups and the Mexican government, is to reconquer (Reconquista) land lost to America in the Mexican-American War that ended in 1848 with the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo.

Mexicans and many Mexican-Americans have never accepted the loss of their land, inhabited long before the gringos (white Europeans) arrived. Chicano groups like MEchA (Chicano Student Movement Of Aztlan) want to reconquer seven states in the Southwestern United States called Aztlan, the mythical home of the Aztecs. They include: California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, plus parts of Colorado, Nevada and Utah.

The road to success is based on infiltration (illegal aliens from Mexico) and demographic dominance (like-minded Chicanos being elected to political office by a region overwhelmingly of Mexican origin). What would exist is a de facto alien nation, with loyalty to their Mexican homeland. Efforts would be made to establish a separate government or to rejoin Mexico. Note that Mexico has granted dual citizenship to Mexican immigrants with U.S. citizenship as well as to their children. Kind of speeds the process along. No repatriation needed.

Chicano Studies programs in many colleges advance the cause by indoctrinating young Chicano students to hate white America and to participate in driving them from the Southwestern U.S., all paid for by the American taxpayer. These students then go on to win political office (example - Cruz Bustamante, Lt. Governor of California and former member of MEchA). And the momentum builds.

Anything to achieve their goal is utilized. Non-assimilation is preached. Keep your" Mexicaness". And the new immigrants are doing just that. Bi-lingual education is demanded. Demonstrations, intimidation of officeholders and lawsuits are filed to defeat proposed laws like Proposition 187 (denies public benefits to illegal aliens).

Vicente Fox, President of Mexico, is a major participant in Reconquista, the invasion of America. His efforts toward making the dream a reality include dual citizenship for Mexican-Americans. guidelines to illegals heading for America, a new temporary worker program, driver's licenses for illegals and the legalization of millions of undocumented Mexican workers in America. He also supports a European Union type of arrangement between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, including open borders. That would be a definite gain for Mexico and the soon-to-be predominately Mexican, Southwestern United States. Yes, Spanish would be the primary language and support for Mexico (remember dual citizenship) would make that area a part of Mexico or, at least, an autonomous region, uncooperative with the U.S. national government.

Fox, while speaking in Chicago on June 16, 2004, revealed his vision of the territorial boundaries of Mexico when he said: "We are Mexicans that live in our territories and we are Mexicans that live in other territories [America - primarily the Southwestern United States]. In reality, we are 120 million people [100 million in Mexico and the rest in America] that live together and are working to construct a nation." [1]

Fox's predecessor, Ernesto Zedillo, proclaimed on July 27, 1997 that:"I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders [again the Southwestern United States] and that Mexican migrants are an important- a very important - part of it." [2]

The following quotes are from Mexicans, Mexican - "Americans" and others who clearly show the serious problem that threatens the continued existence of America as we know it.

Mario Obledo, co-founder of MALDEF (American legal Defense and Education Fund), and former Secretary of Health and Welfare for California, offered this: "We're going to take over all the political institutions in California. In five years the Hispanics are going to be the majority population of this state." It would be a Hispanic state and anyone who didn't like it "... ought to go back to Europe," [3]

Professor Charles Trujillo of the University of New Mexico, because of the ongoing large Hispanic immigration in the Southwestern U.S., declared that: secession is an "inevitability". And, "We may join Mexico... Throughout history, nations and empires rise and fall. No nation's borders have been permanent." [4]

In a June 12, 2002 Zogby International Poll, '... 58 percent of Mexicans in Mexico believed that the American Southwest belongs to them and 57 percent believed that they do not require U.S. permission to enter this country."

This blunt statement in 1995 from Jose Angel Gutierrez, Professor of Political Science, University of Texas, Arlington, founder of La Raza Unida Party: "This [the Southwestern U.S.] is our homeland. We cannot - we will not - we must not be made to be illegal in our own homeland. We are not immigrants that came from another country to another country. We are migrants, free to travel the length and breath of the Americas because we belong here. We are millions. We just have to survive, We have an aging white America. They are not making babies, They are dying. It's a matter of time. The explosion is in our population." [5]

Another declaration from Professor Gutierrez : "We have got to eliminate the gringo (white American), and what I mean by that is that if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him." [6]

Now for a scholarly look at reconquista but a similarly disturbing conclusion, there is Harvard Professor Samuel P, Huntington, Chairman of the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies , who wrote The Hispanic Challenge in Public Policy Magazine, April, 2004: "[t]he persistence of Hispanic immigrants threatens to divide the United States into two people, two cultures, and two languages... The United States ignores this challenge at its peril... Mexican immigration differs from past immigration due to a combination of six factors: contiguity, scale, illegality, regional concentration, [in the American Southwest], persistence, and historical presence... Demographically, socially, and culturally, the reconquista (re-conquest) of the Southwest United States by Mexican immigrants is well underway."

The immigration catastrophe could have been prevented but our "leaders" in the White House and congress seem more intent on collecting new voters than protecting America from being dismantled plus the drugs, crime and potential terrorists coming across our southern border. In fact, Bush recently cut back on the 2000 agents scheduled for the Mexican border in 2006. Now its only 210.

That may be because he is amenable to a North American Community based on the European Union model, part of which includes less concern with borders. There would also be a loss of sovereignty since a number of functions would be shared by members of the union. And, of course, a common currency.

So what we have is a people, united by hatred, supported by their government, with a plan to reconquer a large part of America, facing virtually no opposition from those with the power to stop it.

And Mexico, confronting the most powerful nation on earth, could be victorious "... without firing a shot."

This 'European Union type of arrangement between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, including open borders' is just one more example of economic outsourcing that hurts the common man.

Plus what about national sovereignty? Why do we need this New World Economic Order???Are we going to have a North American Union unit of currency? Agree or disagree a WORLD ECONOMY/MARKET is the goal. Hence, more imperialism in regions such as Africa and the Middle East. After all, we have to get everyone to subscribe.
