His name i might have spelt wrong but this guy is my favorite mob movie actor. He was great in a Bronx Tale, outshining even Di Nero. Then in Boss of Bosses a made for TV movie he was very good. He was funny in Analyze This. I wish he played in more parts in movies. He is a great actor. Very under rated

Any idea who Sonny was Based on,ive always wondered if Bronx tale was based on a true story! Very good question DE NIRO. However several of us have done some extensive searches and none of us, so far, has been able to come up with anything solid. I believe that Turnbull once came up with someone who the Sonny character could have been loosely based on. But again, nothing concrete. Don Cardi
Don Cardi Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

Write a letter to Chazz. I once wrote to Danny Aiello (asking him about the supposed ad-libbed line he spoke in Part II). He never answered me.

Thanks, DC, but I don't think I ever got to first base with the real life Sonny. He was a neighborhood boss, probably not higher than a crew chief, and would not have attracted much attention from any of the sources I could have accessed. I do agree about Chazz being a talented writer and a very capable actor. Another of his good roles was in "Mulholland Falls," a Chinatown-wannabe about LA's famous "Hat Squad" of detectives, starring Nick Nolte. It's no "Chinatown," but Chazz was one of the few among a very notable cast who did justice to his role. SC's advice about writing him re. Sonny isn't far-fetched at all: it's worth a try. Even if he doesn't answer, his PR firm or agent might have an answer, since I bet he's been asked that question many times.
