what you think? on this same date (12/30) in 96 the Bulls had the same record the Pistons have now: 24-3.

I'm delighted to see my beloved team dominating this year, but they'd have to go 49-6 until the end of the season to top the 72-10 1996's Chicago Bulls. personally, I don't care, as long as they get the ring, and I really don't believe. I don't think they're that great.

Pistons is Detroit, right?

Yeah, they're doing very fine this year. Now at .885 I believe...

On paper the '96 Bulls is the better team and I don't think the Pistons have the same 1-2 punch that the Bulls had, but I'm pretty sure they will cruise to 55 wins for sure. Anything above that is anyone's guess.

I don't think they'll break the record but like you I hope they win the championship (because I HATE San Antonio so much). I was so pissed when they lost game 7 in June. They could have won that game

Topic: Can the Pistons better the '96 Bulls?

If Michael Jordan comes out of retirement, joins the Pistons, and plays like he did in '96, they'll be better than the '96 Bulls.

Otherwise, I'd say "No"

yeah I agree with you plaw. the only way to make such an amazing run in the regular season is having someone like MJ in your team.

PS: I HATE the fuckin' Spurs too. what a boring-ugly-stinky team!

Do the Pistons actually have top players?
Because even I (non-American) can name some NBA basketballplayers, but I know no one from Detroit.

[/b][/quote]Detroit has a great team. Many are saying Chauncey (sp?) Billups could win the MVP this season. They have Rip Hamilton (when he was first traded for Jerry Stackhouse I totally thought Washington got the better of the deal. Boy was I wrong), Ben Wallace and Rasheed Wallace (bet he LOVES playing in Detroit)

It seems to have been just a collection of people that weren't working out on other teams but when they came together as a team they are great.

The main reason I hate the Spurs besides them being a texas team...MANU F*CKING GINOBLI! I hate that motherf*cker. He's such a flopper. His back spends more time on the floor than his feet do and people call him a superstar. He's a p*ssy! Sorry to rant but I don't think he deserves that championship and I REALLY wish they didn't win it last year

That's what's so tragic and I will NEVER embrace it. As I've said here before the only texas team I like in ANY sport are the Dallas Mavericks

You have some funny ideas about "deserving" to win championships.

Like the Red Sox didn't "deserve" to win their championship two years ago.

Ginobili's team won. They had a great regular season record, and then won four rounds of playoff games, including beating the defending champions in the finals.

Ginobili wa an integral part of the best team in basketball last year.

How can you say he didn't deserve to win his championship?

Dude, are you joking? Because I seriously don't know.

I asked this because he is the first Belgian ever (my country) to be in the NBA.
Next year there will maybe be another Belgian in the NBA, named Axel Hervelle. Philly drafted him.

Pistons didn't take a step in the right direction tonight with their loss to Cleveland (24-4)
