BUY - Magic played point guard with a power forward's body and a point guard's agility. Great passer. One of the best all-around players, position notwithstanding, to ever lace 'em up. He would do whatever it took to win - from playing center when Kareem was hurt, to developing the baby hook, to becoming a good 3 point shooter.

BUY or SELL - Larry Brown leaves the Knick job after 2 very mediocre years. The Knicks fail to make the playoffs in Brown's 1st year and get knocked out in the 1st round in Brown's 2nd season.

Buy - Everything except when he leaves. I don't know if he'll leave after 2 years but with the team he has and the other teams in the East, it'll be hard for them to get out of the first round

Sell - Bird did a great job, no doubt. Certainly better than Magic or Isiah. But don't forget, Phil Jackson was once a player. Not a good player, but he has 9 rings as a coach. Lenny Wilkens is a HOF player and coach. I might be wrong about this, but I believe Pat Riley also played as well. So there are far better players turned coaches than Bird. However, he's probably one of the best superstar players to be successful as a coach.

BUY or SELL - The best player to have never won a title was John Stockton.

SELL - Boozer needs some more help. Boozer alone isn't enough to get a team into the playoffs. He's learning the hard way that he could have been the perfect complement to LeBron James. Now he's just another power forward in a Western Conference loaded with them.

And re: Scottie Pippen. Not only was he NOT the best all-around player, he shouldn't have even been included in the NBA's 50 best back in 1997. We all saw the player Pippen was without Jordan - slightly above average. With Jordan, Pippen was pretty good. But Pippen ought to get down on his knees every day and say a prayer of thanks that he was Jordan's teammate. My image of Pippen will forever be in the playoffs of 1994, the year after Jordan retired for 1st time. Phil Jackson drew up a play during a timeout for Tony Kukoc and Pippen had a hissie-fit and wouldn't get off the bench since the play wasn't for him. In my opinion, that play epitomized Pippen's character and me-first attitude.

Concerning Scottie, you guys are certainly entitled to your own opinion about whether he was a great player or not, but to say he owes everything to Michael makes me believe you just don't like him as a player and have no real claims to back up your arguments. Bill Simmons, a Page 2 writer for ESPN.com who knows more about the NBA than anyone on this board, wrote an article when Scottie retired that pretty much sums it up. The most amazing thing about Scottie was how he was exactly the same player with Jordan and without him. His career numbers with Michael and without him were nearly identical. I certainly don't expect everyone to like Scottie, and it is fair to criticize him for not entering the game on the Kukoc play, but to say he wasn't one of the 50 greatest players and dimiss all his other accomplishments throughout his career because of 5 seconds screams bandwagon NBA fan.
