"Kill the Yanks" huh bad guy tm? Well, get your "shots" in now, because I still have a LONG memory from last October and when the Yanks win it all this year, I'm going off the deep end. They'll have to invite a new word for how far I go!

You've got to be kidding me. It's a pity there's no strike in baseball rather than hockey, I can't stand the sport. And how long does the season last, 14 years and 600 games by steroid infested cheats?

I think I'd rather watch cricket!

Don't say that Turi! I'd much rather see a strike in Hockey (or even Football for that matter), but don't take away my precious (yes precious) baseball or basketball. Cheer up bad guy tm, a week now from Sunday the Unit will earn his first paycheck in pinstripes. As for Johnny Stiltz, welcome, it's always great to have another Yankee lover on this board!

It's only spring training Don Smitty. The Unit wasn't his perfect self in his first outing. However, the Yanks did beat Pettitte today in spring trainging!

I cannot wait until Opening Day. With Barry Bonds out of the lineup and a weakened Dodger tea,, my Padres have a golden opportunity to take hold of the NL West early. In my mind Baseball's Opening Day is 2nd to none in the world of sports. There is just something special about it that I cannot quite explain.

Opening day is inching closer...woo hoo!! I can smell the hot dogs cooking. But then, that's nothing new beings I work 4 blocks from Oriole Park.

Wow not an O's fan are you beth? Or are you only a Nationals fan because of a certain player whose name starts with a V?? The O's will be better this year with the addition of Sosa to go along with Tejada and Palmerio, however they still don't have a great rotation and won't get any higher than third behind New York and Boston respectively

Could be!!

I'm sick of Peter Angelos and his thin pockets. His golden boy Ponson has been lowered to 4th position. (If only he could throw a pitch like he can throw a punch). You can have all the Sosa's, Tejada's and Palmeiro's you want. They don't do you much good when you're pitching gives up like 10 runs.

Exactly, that's their down fall. As for the Yanks, I heard the starting rotation's gonna be Johnson, Pavano, Mussina, then Brown (they're gonna skip Wright's first start so he won't pitch until the 15th). As for the lineup, I only heard that Torre confirmed that his 1-2-3 hitters would be Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and Gary Sheffield! I guess Matsui will bat 4 and Womack 9 when he comes back.

That's a killer starting rotation. Hey, The Orioles' have Bedard...I guess I shouldn't complain.

I've never really been a big Mussina fan. I don't think he was all that great as an Oriole. One day he's on fire...one day he gives up 8 runs.

Well Moose was very good for us in the playoffs last year as was Jon Lieber. As for the Yanks rotation, sure it's very good, but there's still some question marks for me. Johnson needs to stay healthy all year so he can win another Cy Young award. Wright needs to stay healthy and see how he pitches against a team like Boston or Anaheim, and I'm wondering how Pavano will also adjust to the AL. Not to mention Brown, who was great in like his first 10 starts last year before getting injuried in the early part of the summer.

Didn't Kevin Brown kind of slide last year? I don't remember him being a big contender.

Johnson....he's old. If his body stays in shape he should do well. One slip on a banana peel and look out! Broken hip, dislocated shoulder, broken back.

Well Brown was their ace before he got injuried. I believe he was 9-1 before his first injury, and then he came back I think at the end of June or July and played a game in Texas and he really struggled, and he never got back to his dominating way again last year.

As for Johnson, yeah he just needs to stay healthy. If he does, he should win at least 20-22 games. I mean, look at him last year. He won the NL Cy Young Award (even though they gave it to Clemens), with Arizona (who scored 2 runs or less on average when he pitched). Do you know how much run support he's going to get in New York? Man, it's going to be so exciting to watch! It'll be like the Dream Team in the 1992 Olympics

Yeah I'll keep my eyes peeled for the World Champs from the Central Division We all know the Twins will win the division and the Tigers probably won't make the playoffs, but they should be in the hunt for it. They are spending money and they are getting better.

I'm not too worried about the central. It doesn't really matter to me because they're not going to really do anything in the playoffs this year. The big 3 in the AL will be New York, Boston, and Anaheim

Here's another interesting article that I found that might interest some of you as well! It says that Ken Griffey Jr. could possbily be a Yankee . What I didn't know is that he had a grudge against the organization and I think that's part of the reason why he didn't go there after he left Seattle
