You know, but I don't hate nor wished defeat on the players nor Joe Torre.
However, The Boss is another story....
3rd Year in a row I got to see Mr. Steinbrenner be all emotional and pissed-off after his pocketbook failed to win a title. Not to mention losing to his team's Rival at his stadium. Ouch.

The GREATEST choke in professional sports. And it happens to the highest payroll in baseball and to an owner who buys as much talent as possible. I guess you should develop a better farm system, George.
I heard a commentator on ESPN this morning who made some good points. The Yanks are stuck with Kevin Brown's $15 million for another year, the uncertainty of Giambi's health as he faces another 4-5 on his deal, plus the long-term, big money contracts of A-Rod & Jeter. Sure they'll sign good players in the future. But for every big name they'll sign, the Yanks will overpay for stiffs in the mold of K. Brown, Jeff Weaver, etc. Even if they lure Pedro away from Boston, he's not the same pitcher he was a few years ago.
Not that I'm rooting for the Sox in the Series. It's just that rooting for a winner in a Boston-NY matchup is like deciding whether you'd prefer to have a root canal vs. passing a kidney stone.

Correction: Yankee FANS lose. The big whiffers and stiffers will drive away in their Lexus SUVs, Escalades and Beemers.....Jeter can now party the night away, A-Rod can hug his sweet thang, Sheff can wear his bling-bling and Brown, well he can laugh all way to the hand Doctor. The cycle is turning on its down swing. No new crops from the farm, just recycled meat. Transplanted hearts rejected.
One suggestion for MLB: Pine Tar on helmets should be illegal. Kinda like George Bretts pine tar bat.
