I like how the Bills 4th string QB (Greg Zolman) played better than Bledsoe (1st) or Brown (3rd)... :p

Ugh, again, we wait for more than a decade for an O-Line, and we still suck.

As an introduction, I'm a senior in high school. I start at both WR & CB. I also return kicks. I'm kinda small (5'9, 165), but have decent speed (4.6 in the 40). We just finished camp - 2 weeks of 2-a-days and 3-a-days. Our first game is this Friday.

Yeah I'm interested in your season Freddie. Don't worry about your size, Hines Ward's only 6 foot.

Attention Fantasy Football Players

We've had a request to move back our draft by 45 minutes to 7:30 PM Eastern, same day (Sept. 1st). The previous time was 6:45 PM.

Please let me know if this causes you any major problems. I have NOT made this change yet, and will post later on today if any changes are made after I receive responses.

I, unfortuantely, work 4-9 on Wednesday. I'm not going to be able to make it.

It makes the draft a little later for me which is only a minor inconvenience. Guess i'll be having a late night wednesday. Luckily I've got thursday morning off.

When do we get the draft order?

It's gonna go in the reverse order of last season's finish, right?

I mean, I lost the 5th place playoff game on purpose, just to improve my draft position for this year.

How does the online draft work, tho? Last time we did it manually. Do I HAVE TO pre-rank, and it takes the players in that order with no interaction from me, or, do we pick players manually as everyone waits?

Ugh, I hope it's not an auto-draft if you are logged on. That would be so bad. What if a player you didn't expect to be available suddenly comes up, but it automatically takes the other guy?

I will try to be there, hopefully I can snag the computer/internet for a little while wednesday evening.

OK, I checked and the draft-time-stays-as-before...

It turns out that the later time slot isn't even available anymore with it being so close to draft day.

In any case, the draft is on Wednesday, Sept. 1st at 6:45 PM Eastern.

As JG posted, the draft order is randomized a little before the draft starts.

The draft is in snake fashion - the 12th picker becomes the first picker of the 2nd round and snakes in that fashion all the way until the last round.

Each drafter will have 90 seconds to make his selection. Once he finishes, the countdown begins for the next guy.

As for pre-ranking, you usually do not have to pre-rank your players because Yahoo already lists the players through its own default ranking system (which is usually pretty good).

There are only two reasons to pre-rank - (i) you disagree with Yahoo's rankings or (ii) you're not at the draft and want to make sure your favorite players are picked first (e.g. Say you have the urgent need to pick Chris Simms as your first pick. Then pre-rank and move Simms to #1 on your pre-rank list.)

Auto-draft (which is when the computer picks for you) is only used for players who do not show up live. The auto-draft will pick the first available player on your rank list. If you are there live, you manually pick your players.

Regarding Pre-Ranking:

I did a live draft yesterday morning with this same game (Yahoo), different league - and if you are planning to be present during the draft, I don't see any need to pre-rank your players.

You have a queue box in which you can place your desired players (any position) . From there you can draft from your queue box. You can put as many players in the box as you want and put them in the order you want to draft. If a player is taken by someone else, that player disapears from your queue box.

This is like the 5th year I have played this particular fantasy game and let me just warn you, the draft goes very fast. Every year, my competitors and I comment we swear that the picks went faster than last year! If you are unlucky like me and manage to get a shitty draft order, it will seem you don't have enough time to draft a good player when all the ones you planned on getting are taken before you. That said - be a bit prepared in knowing what players you WOULD like to have and then plan on getting maybe TWO of them!

If you can, try to draft Emmitt Smith first! :p

Regarding Pre-Ranking

How does it know when to move to another position, i.e. what if you get your top 2 RB and you would want a QB and there is still a RB on the list will it take that and skip the QB ?

In short, all starting roster positions must be filled before the computer picks bench players. Therefore, if you already have your top 2 running backs picked and say you still needed a wide receiver and a QB- even if you still have a highly rated 3rd RB available and ahead of any available WRs and Qbs on your draft list, the computer will pick the WR or QB first. As to the question of which one (WR or QB) the computer picks for you, your draft list will determine which starting position will be picked (e.g. if you rank an available QB higher than an available WR, the computer will pick the QB first).

Below is what Yahoo says about your question, BDD.

When you are unable to draft for yourself, our computer system will make intelligent choices for you. This will happen if you signed up for an Autopick League or are not present for all or part of your Live Draft.

The autopick system first selects the highest-rated available player (based first on your pre-rankings and then our default rankings) that can fill one of the open starting positions on your roster.

After all of your starting positions are filled, the system determines a list of bench positions based on the number of starters at a position vs. the overall roster size. The system then selects the highest-rated available player (based first on your pre-rankings and then our default rankings) that can play one of the bench positions.

Given this system, it is important to remember that all starting positions are filled before any bench players are chosen. Additionally, keep in mind that the system will determine a maximum number of players to draft per position (starters plus bench) so that no roster ends up with an inordinate number of players at any single position (e.g., five quarterbacks in a league that has a single starting quarterback).

Regardless of your league type, it is wise for all managers to pre-rank players in case they miss any part of the draft. To do this, just go to your team page and select Edit Pre-Rankings.

Has anyone tried the "Test System" link on our league home page?

I just tried it, and all I get is a little box that opens up on the top left corner of the screen, but nothing happens.

When I try to close the box, I get "Program not responding", and have to close it that way.

Is it me, or them?

Edit: I ran it again, and the box finally opened. I clicked on "run test", it ran, and then "test successful" came up.

Everyone (or anyone) else get that? Probably a good idea to run that test if you haven't already.

Hey DoucheBag Commish

Regarding this whole ranking of players since I probably won't be at the draft now, what happens if I only list 100? After that does it pull from their remaining list in their orders?

I'm so confused .... this sucks. I might not play and join that Wussy League that PL setup. Some crap about salary cap and the such .... :p

If you only list 100, it goes to the highest remaining player (for a position that you need) on Yahoo's list.

I'm telling you BDD, get a buddy that you trust to do it!
