The U.S. lose again, this time to Puerto Rico by 19??? Oh well, I think this team just doesn't mix well together. They may have the most talent (even with B stars) but they dont know how to play as a team that well. So what do you guys think what medal will they get if any???

That said, who cares about Basketball in the Olympics? Obviously not the top American NBA stars that could have played for their country - And rightly so. For these stars, winning the Olympics isn't the highest honour they can win in the sport, it's a second or even third rate challenge compared to the top accolade of the NBA.

I don't get how these guys lost by 19 on the first day. Sure we can still win the gold, but it's an uphill battle. The US reminds me of this year's Lakers, where most expected to simply hand the crown to LA. Then along came the Detroit Pistons, who played good, sound fundamental basketball & thrashed the almightly Lakers in 5 games.

It wouldn't shock me to see the same type of thing happen with the US team in Athens. I hope it doesn't, but it's not out of the realm.

After last night's victory over Greece should we now call them the Redeemed Team???

No way - the US has proven nothing yet. Greece is no powerhouse and the US only beat them by 6 points. Larry Brown needs to be playing LeBron James more - LeBron is one of the few on the team who knows how to play team basketball. Granted, his jumper is suspect like the rest of the team, but LeBron is always making good passes or can use his speed to drive to the hoop.
