In continuing with our successful Gangster BB Fantasy Sports games, everyone join our Bracket Pick'em game. Game is easy... pick the winners of each first round game (and successive round games) all the way to the NCAA champion. You get 10 points for every first round pick correct, 20 points for every second round pick correct, 40 - 3rd round, etc. (points double every round).

Here's the link to join:

ESPN Tournament Challenge

You have to register with ESPN first, no charge. I set up a league already, "Gangster BB". The password is "godfather".

Make your picks quickly. Your picks lock (meaning you can't change them) once the first game begins on March 18th.

Thanks Don, I'll be in. Let me "study" the brackets first. Last year I was in one with 45 people. I came in last. But since I won the Pigskin Pick'em, maybe my luck ....skill is changing.

I'm in Douchey. And I'm confused already. I'll do my best though.

I'm in.

There's no "second half" to this game, right?

I've been in, but didn't think there'd be any interest. Hell, I'm not even that interested or knowledgable about NCAA ball, but I've created my 5 brackets. Are all y'all creating the maximum 5 brackets?

I'm already in a group, but if Commish Douche wants to create a private group, just let us know where and the password...

Hmmm...I'm surprised we haven't had a bunch of sign-ups already, considering the fact that to play this game you have to devote just a few minutes, one time.

BTW, did I mention that I usually do very well at this? I won it one year when Arkansas went all the way (1993?), beating UCLA, I think.

Um, don't you have to fill out the whole thing to play, or am I missing something?

True. Does that mean any sport? Cuz I've been playing practically everything -- NASCAR, IRL, Horse Racing, hell, even Bass Fishing!

Yes - but you can create up to 5 separate, complete brackets ("teams").

Oh, now I see what you mean. We can have a league, and each member can have up to five teams.

I already have my 5. But the group isn't limited to 50 (I've seen over 100 teams in one group), so don't worry about people being locked out. (And if that was the case, we could always create 5 teams, but, only display our best 3 or whatever)

Updated on that: "Entries may leave/join group only before lock time"

But I still wouldn't worry about it. We're not getting over 20 people in this game with 5 teams each... by Thursday.

Yeah. I vote for one team. Take your best shot. Picking 5 teams adds too much of the luck element.

Well, whatever. I'll move my other 4 to another group if that's what you decide.

But I, for one, want 5 chances at the $10,000 Grand Prize and 32" HDTV First Prize :p

Hmmm, good point. I forgot about that.

Well, to win that, you gotta make some real upset picks in the early rounds. Pick some teams that you never would pick if you were trying to just win our "league".

Maybe we should limit our league to our one, best team, and just go our separate ways into public leagues or something with the other four.

Commissioner Bigelow?

No kidding. I got CREAMED in the Baseball Playoffs cuz I picked mostly favorites. Five teams, and 3 were done after the first round (Damn Yankees). And that game you had to pay for

I didn't even know you can pick 5 different brackets. I assumed that you can only choose one. Some commisioner I'm turning out to be!

Anyway, let's do this just like any old office pool... In most cases, we can only turn in one bracket filled out, so let's limit ourselves to just one per person. What you do with the other 4... well, just let us know how you did!

I agree with you, MC is probably the one to watch. You'll probably be the other favorite, plaw, since I know you'll do research.

I've competed in office pools before. I won't say how I've done!

Just to let you all know that we are in a "LOCKED" group, meaning once our selections are locked in on Thursday, you can't take them out of our group or put another bracket in. How this affects us is for example, say one of us has 5 brackets (with one being in the Gangster BB league and the other 4 elsewhere). If it turns out that one of the other 4 brackets is doing better than the one in the Gangster BB, an "UNLOCKED" group will allow you to switch your brackets so your better one is in the Gangster BB.

You cannot do this in our "LOCKED" group.

I hope that made sense!

Where's Buffy, BDD, Don Corpuzzi, Don Marco??? I know you guys are out there!

BDD will probably just pick 22 of the first 32 first round games so he can say he started 10 games late! :p

Just to let you in on my secret strategy. For the Final Four I pick one Catholic school (just in case God's playing too), one team with a guy under 6 foot, one team with a feline mascot, and one team that has a coach who wears a sweater.

Let me guess...

Catholic School - St. Joes
Feline Mascot - Kentucky
Under 6 foot Team - Mississippi State (Gary Ervin 5'11")
Sweater Team - They all wear sweaters! My guess is that the Stanford coach wears a sweater!

Am I close??

I'd be glad to join, but I already laid down my bets at work. And last year when I did online fantasy and bet at work, I ended up losing.

So it's bad luck.

But I will throw my prediction on the board...Texas.

Who's "M. Anderson"?

Tell him he can't play if we don't know who he is, Commish.

EDIT: Never mind. It's Don Marco. Incognito, huh?

I took a shot at it. But as you know I am not into basketball. Big East basketball. SU has not kept my interest this year.
