okay... week 9 just ended and what a game it was in the meadowlands. 5 seconds left in ot, and conway hits the fg to give the giants the win. Now if there are any giant fans there who arent in the hospital or dead of heart attacks yet, then u should be admired. three over time games midway through the season. a handful of special teams mistakes such as the westbrook punt return, the out of bounds kick off against dallas, and the famous botched fg last season against the niners. I was at three of those games, and I am almost afraid to be a giants fan because my heart cant take this shit. they have got to be the worst fourth quarter team ever, and its gonna kill me. and admist all of this bull shit, they are in the hunt for the playoffs. Irony.

What a week for the NFL! I just saw the Packers defeat the Vikings 30-27 at the Metrodome on ESPN. The crowd definitely saw a lot of vintage Favre, passing for 3 touchdowns on the day. The Packers had 283 total rushing yards, keeping the tired Viking defense on the field. This game just saved the Packers' season, and hopefully they will continue to shine offensively. The game was influenced heavily by 3rd down conversions, and the Pack just played a little bit better.
To my fellow Packer fans: We can sleep a little bit easier tonight, but there still is a long way to go. There is now a brightening light at the end of the tunnel.

I think they will lose on their last game against denver, but that will be their only one. Well it's almost impossible to say. According to Chad Johnson, he guarantees a Bengals win this week. No doubt the Bengals are going to be pumped for this game, but it's ridiculous to think the Chiefs won't be. So while you hear almost every single "expert" this week predict a stunning Bengals upset this week, I highly doubt that will happen. I won't say there's no way, because after all, this is the NFL. After Cincinnati, we come back to Arrowhead to play the Raiders. Oh gawd, not the Raiders. Watch the Chiefs do something they failed to do in Oakland...blow the Raiders out. The next week we go to San Diego. Flutie is probably the starter now, and we'll see how long his little spark carries this team. They could be very dangerous. But there's no way their D can touch our offense no matter if Flutie holds the Olympic Torch. December 7th, Chiefs play at Denver. Plummer will be back, they'll be looking for revenge. We're going to have to bring our A game plus more. If there's any game we do lose, this will be it. Dec. 14 Lions come to Arrowhead. A Chiefs blowout. Dec. 20 at Minnesota. This game is almost like the late Broncos game. There's a good chance the Chiefs might go 14-2. This would be that other loss. Randy Moss can and probably will rip our weak secondary to pieces. The Chiefs defense will bend, but the Vikings D will break. Dec 28 Bears come to Arrowhead. See Dec. 14 game Will the Chiefs go 16-0? I wouldn't bet on it. But I wouldn't bet on them losing any. I'm just going to sit back and watch this outstanding season and let it soak in. I have no doubt we will win the Super Bowl. We will have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. That ensures us on getting to the Super Bowl. And I'm not afraid of any NFC team at all.

Well, I wasn't exactly pleased with last week's heart breaker either, but the Packers are only 1 game out of first place here! The Monday night game was just devastating; there is no excuse for fumbling the ball 6 times. Today's win against Tampa Bay just saved their season, so I can at least celebrate that. raggingbull2003: I know that you're angry about the Giants season (to say the least), but I wouldn't go as far as to hate the Pack like that. I agree that Fassel has been inconsistent, and like the Saints, the Giants wasted a lot of great talent. Hopefully the Giants can end the season on a good note, because in the NFL you never know who will make the playoffs.

I have always believed the highest paid players on the team should be the linemen, especially offense. Running backs are a dime a dozen. Quarterbacks, a quarter a dozen.
Case in point. The Giants were suppose to kick ass this year because they had all these great players at the "skill" position. Their offensive line is comprised of half rookies and the other half are out of position.
Some of the great teams had no names at the skill positions. I'll go back to Oakland and Jim Plunkett - SuperBowl champs, mediocre quarterback, the center - Jim Otto. Mark Rypien, Doug Williams, how about old man Earl Morrall. Remember Bill Ring the running back on the first San Fran Super Bowl team. Last years Bucs?? But if you looked at the offensive line of each of those teams....veterans or at least guys that had been together for a few years. The Giant Super Bowl team of 1986 had a veteran line that made Phil Simms a better QB than he was.
Give the linemen $$$$$$$ and get a mediocre QB, RB and some elusive receivers.

Good point, but the Giants didnt suck this year because of lack of skill at the linemen position. True, there were many injuries and such to the line and yes, quite a few rookies had to move to starting positions. But what hurt the giants this season was overly conservative coaching and lack of intensity on the field. As far as im concerned, the giants o-line played pretty well considering the circumstances.
But I see what u are saying. without good linemen, the runningbacks cant play to the best of their ability. The qb cant have enough time to even have a chance to play, and if that is the case, the recievers cant do their job. They are no doubt an important factor to any team.
