So what you're saying is once the season progresses and we can't pick the top players all the time you expect me to drop to my normal location in the field, ie, in the basement?

I am Catwoman...I will claw all your eyes out! Just try to stop me. :p

Not the basement necessarily, but once you need to start picking some of the lesser lights because you can't afford a team of only all-stars, the cream should rise to the top.

Since you've already stated that you know almost nothing about basketball.... :p

Go ahead and laugh, I didn't know who any of the three guys you mention were!

This should be a great season for me!

I'm just glad that if Kevin Garnett picked a game to do lousy it's when everyone else has him. I'm at least greatful that Toronto won. 5 points! Woo Hoo.

Don't worry plaw. I've been watching the games and getting the know the "smaller" players, (is that the correct term)? Any who, when push comes to shove I may be able to come up with the "surprise players" that give me great points. So don't be so cocky. I might surprise you yet!
I just wish they didn't call the shots "field goals". I'm getting all my games confused.

Dang, I wish I had Rashard Lewis in my lineup tonight, 50 points. Jason Kidd's triple double didn't hurt my point total though.

Now that's a loaded question.

Answer me this. Why does Jason Kidd blow kisses to the basket? How annoying.

OH MY GOD!!! in the first days of the season I didn't know the rules of the virtual gm so I sucked in the start. then in the first day I played it the right way I was the highest scorer in our group. and then tonight...BAM! look at my roster:

C - Jamaal Magloire - I trusted this son of a bitch and he earned 1 point tonight...ONE point
F's - Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki - them both decided to make the worst performances of their career in the very same night I picked'em
G - Vince Carter - 9 points...
G - Carlos Arroyo - after his amazing opening game (18 pts, 13 ast) I picked him. Alright, I knew it was high risk to pick a player like this, but, please...he didn't even play one single minute.

I can't believe this. I got 48 fuckin' points tonight. was I unlucky or do I really stink in this game?

You are so right Pee-Lawrence- I think I have had enough of B-ball. The sport bores me more then I remembered and the need to worry about changing a team every day is just to much right now. At least with baseball they play several days in a row, so you can run your team a couple of days if you want.

There are so many things to do and enjoy during this time of year and with the holidays coming and all I just don't find this that appealing. Friends and my lady seem to be taking up more and more of my hours.

With baseball I seemed to look forward to opening the thread, reading what others had to say. I don't feel this way about B-ball and at night you really can't follow what is happening like you could with baseball while you work on your team.

So instead of doing things halfway, I should just drop out now. Like I said before, even the whole BB board seems like a grade school forum so I have little to pull me here each day.

Good luck to all and may the best B-Ball brain win!

Today should be good for everybody cuz there's only 1 game LA/Golden State. When was the last time you could start 4 Hall of Famers in a fantasy lineup with it not being a fantasy? However, I'm not a Laker fan but today is a no-brainer of course.

I definitely have a life away from here and I don't think is that hard to pick a roster everyday. you can make it in 5 minutes if you want. welll, I'm just hoping that no one drop our group 'cause we already have very few members

[/quote]Ummmm... I got nothing else to add.

Back from my weekend in the snowy north (Calgary) where I took my nieces trick-or-treating in below freezing temperature and about a foot of snow.

I still had time to change my roster though.

FS, what can I say... see you in baseball.

So many to look out for after the first week!

I would say it would take about three weeks to weed out who the contenders are.

Judging by the picks everyone has been making, I would say that we're all contenders.

I'll stick with my original prediction, though. Badguytony made some very knowledgable comments in the old "Any Hoops Fans" thread. I'm betting he finishes somewhere in the top three.

Even if he's from Milwaukee, and a Bucks fan. :p

I also think OA really knows the game, and has figured out this fantasy thing. But, as I said before, I don't know if he has the staying power to deal with this every day for 5 more months. Don't forget his disappearances and reappearances in the baseball game, and he also missed a whole week in the weekly football pick 'em game.

I would agree with you, plaw. BGT and I were in this Pardon the Interruption thread a number of months ago and he knows his sports. And to carry on your theme... He knows his sports despite of the fact that he's a Packer fan. :p Good win last night, by the way.

Yea, OA should be good if he has the endurance to go the whole season (or even the half).

Crab Cake, on the other hand,... :p

I can guarantee you one thing. Pork will NOT go over the 100 point limit. He learned his lesson in baseball the hard way! :p

Geez, what is this bash the guy from Milwaukee day? It's cool, I've learned to take it from so many people. Besides the Packers, don't count out the Bucks. I ain't just blowin smoke either.

I was the only one with that team. now I'm back in second place, not to far from first, and I got a decent lead on 3rd.

They got a different mindset along with different players this year. They are playing defense and rebounding, 2 reasons why they have dissapointed the last couple of seasons. T.J. Ford is almost as fast as Iverson. It took me awhile to get over the fact they lost some fire power and would not recover, but now I'm sold.
