So I picked this up. I haven't gotten real far in it, but I just tried out several things to see how it is. My assessment right now is that it is very much like Grand Theft Auto 3. I like the mafia taking precedence in this story. My biggest complaint right now is you can't swim. I've tried several times and it just keeps saying "wasted". This game doesn't have the amount of detail as San Andreas but for 20 bucks its still well worth it to play another GTA adventure. That's my 2 cents.

I've thought about picking this up for the PS2, but all of my gaming funds are being saved for the Wii launch.

However, I do plan on picking this up, and like you, I like the fact that this game *focuses* on the mafia rather than other games like San Andreas. I didn't buy that game, simply because I hate the whole gangbanger storyline.

There's also a few other things, like you can't jump and climb gates/walls and the aiming can't zoom in with pistols like you can in San Andreas. As I said, its alot like the first GTA gameplay wise, its still good though.

The game is great on PSP.

PS2...not so much...

PSP graphics don't transfer well to a bigger screen...and when compared to the likes of VICE CITY or SAN ANDREAS...LCS just can't compare.

But hey! It's only 20 bucks!

I agree, for the price of a Greatest Hits game, you get Liberty City, which is brand new to the PS2 at least.

personally I think it is worth buying on its own merit, not just because its cheap...it really is a great game, and will tide over nicely until IV is released

It's a pretty good game......I beat the main story missions the other day, not sure yet weather I'll bother to go for 100% or not.

err... GTA I, II, and III?

I'm just happy to finally play it. Liberty City is my favorite GTA city, and it's good to see another mob story.

San Andreas is a Greatest Hits title now, so all of the GTA games are currently $19.99.

This was the first GTA game I played. I really liked it. It's fun! I like it because it is all about the mafia. And Liberty City is also my favourite city in the GTA series.

I really like this particular entry because you get to play a mobster and its a mob story the whole way, except for the others where only one part had the mafia in it. Vice City doesn't count, because it was more Scarface than Goodfellas.
