This video game looks like it's going to be countless hours of fun for every Mafioso at heart out there.....They are doing things never done before in a video game, especially a video game made from a movie....

Yeah it's comming out for all platforms
It was going to come out in the fall but it looks like they pushed it back to the first quarter of 06 with could be January through march but they are leaning more toward January...You can check it out at EA.com, or game-revolution,
But be careful you might find yourself not being able to think about anything else like I have..It is going to be the greatest thing that has ever happened we can be in the Godfather

It's going to be groundbreaking with new features never done in a video game of it's kind.
And it's not going to be released until Q1 of 2006 which hopefully in Jan. but maybe not unitl March....but it is goign to be a worldwide release on Xbox Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, and PC

The PS3 version will most likely be the version to get upon release. The other systems aren't gonna be able to touch it. Too bad I'll have to settle for the PS2 version, as I won't be purchasing the PS3 upon release. Sony's first wave of hardware is always faulty.

The game looks brilliant and also think that Marlon Brando did the voice over before he Passed away R.I.P

Brando indeed did the voice over for Vito before he passed away. But after careful consideration, EA has decided not to use his voice. With all the tubes and everything attached to him on account of his poor state of health, his voice was almost completely shot. They will, however, still use his likeness in the game.

Let's just appreciate a Godfather game here, hopefully it does exceed my super high expectations for this one.

But since it is EA, it probably won't. They should Blizzard, or Ubisoft do this. But it wook take ages with Blizzard. So prepare yourself for a good, but not excellent video-game, in which, just as with many EA-games, graphics and sound are more important than how it plays or how fun it is.

And EA are suckers cause they don't bring it to Gamecube!!! WHYYYY????

Small market??? It sold nearly as much as the xbox.
Child audience??? The 18+ superviolent Resident Evil 4 was one of the most selling Cube-games of the year.
And now it's only coming for 360, Xbox, PS2, PSP, en PC.

Not for PS3 or Revolution, since those are coming somewhere near the end of 2006 in the USA and Europe.

It's coming to PS3.

Ubisoft? Besides Splinter Cell waht the hel l have they done? Rocky? Laughable.

It's not coming out for Gamecube because GC sucks. :p

Seriously, GC is a kiddy console (Wow Resident Evil! Mario anyone?) And EA isn't gonna waste money on a game that isn't gonna sell on GC.

So true! They've proven it in the past. They make it look good, but the gameplay may not exceed satisfactory. I'm hoping that's not the case with this GF game.

EA's Lord of the Rings games were exceptionally well made and fun. Apart from that, though, they haven't made any more good film-based games.

I've always felt Rockstar produces worth-while games. Think about it--a Rockstar crime-ridden world with much more realism than that of the GTA universe. Now that'd be great.

Awww, I always rated you highly. But not anymore.
How can you possibly say the Gamecube is kiddy??? Because Nintendo's own games are often colorful, which BTW means NOT easy.

The line-up of the Xbox, on the contrary is so overrated.
I have a Cube, and I also bought an xbox cause it was cheap. But I don't nearly play it as much as I play on my Cube. Forza is a good game, and Conker is great (remake of a Nintendo game ). I also have Halo, and while I see the quality it has, it doesn't impress me. And I see nothing more in the line-up, that isn't available for the Cube, that I wanna have. Star Wars Kotor, and Ninja Gaiden, but that's it. The reason the Xbox is succesful is marketing, not the games.

And when I see the top-40 of best xbox-games, I see maybe 20 sport-games like Madden 2001,02,03,04,05, NHL, whatever. Games that really NO ONE is interested in, in Europe. So a lot of the succes is due to the American market. In Europe, the Xbox isn't nearly as strong as in the USA. In Japan, the xbox is nothing. Even the PS1 was outselling it until 2004, and the original GBA sells even now 5 times more than the xbox in Japan.

As for Ubisoft: They've done more than Splinter Cell. Just out of nowhere I can think of: Prince of Persia Sands of Time (good), Warrior Within (still good), Splinter Cell 1,2,3 ; King Kong, the heavily underrated Beyond good and Evil (even heard of this game???). And they've done more, this is just what I can think of right now.

How many other developer have made such games in the past years? Right, not many.
They belong certainly to the top-developers.

Quote:
(Wow Resident Evil! Mario anyone?)
And what do you mean by that? Resident Evil4 is a killer-game, I don't think I saw more than 5 magazines/websites giving it less than 95%. And Mario usually delivers good games. While he didn't had any platformers since 2002, his sport-games are always very fun. They're solid, not exceptional, but in multiplayer, they're great. You shouldn't feel too grown-up for them. I know very adult-like people, always playing games like GTA, and they tried Mario Kart. We went on, and on, and on...that was fun!!

Quote:

Why wouldn't it. Violent games sold in the past for the Cube. Following the 'rules' , Cube-players are supposed to be very not-mainstream, hardcore games, exactly the kind of people who would play a difficult game like that.

And okay, it will come for the PS3, it won't for the Cube, but I'm still hoping it will come for the Revolution. That's possible since Nintendo still didn't throw any specs, or footage of the Revo. But at least that's honest. Cause all those nice 360 movies of the E3, were running on G5-powermacs. The PS3-movies were also running on computers.
Honest? Or naive?

I agree. Rockstar could definitely produce a damn good GF game. I say Rockstar should do it.

Yeah, why not Rockstar. GTA III, VC, and SA are all quality-games.

What else have they made?

It is a possibility, and for the main-stream players it will be good. But all of us are GF-freaks, and we are expecting nothing but the highest. It will be good, but not what we/I expect.

When I first played GTA, the game I played was "Vice City". I thought it was awesome partially due to the graphics. I agree, they seem 'cartoony', but it's a theme. The Godfather is a darker theme, but I think Rockstar could pull it off.

Well, yeah. But we got what we got. We gotta work with what we have. In this case, we have it pretty good.

I don't think Rockstar, despite the fact that they have made 3 of the greatest (if not THE greatest) games of all time, couldn't do this;

Rockstar can make good mafia games, but the GF game is way too fragile for Rockstar to fuck up. Besides, it would look so much like a gta game, I'd be pissed. Rockstar should keep working on their own franchises, what they do best. And besides, EA looks like they know what they're doing:).
