This season has almost certainly focussed more closely on "family"....not "the family".

As such, the structure and hierarchy of the Soprano OC family has become, in my mind at least, a tad blurred.

Can we all please post our ideas for the structure.

This is mine.

Boss: Tony Soprano
Underboss: Paulie Gaultieri
Consiglieri: Silvio Dante
Captains: Christopher Moltisante, Bobby Bacalieri (or maybe not), Carlo (unsure of his surname), Albert Baresi (it would be nice to see him this season) and Vito Spatafore.
Soldiers: Patsy Palmici (plus numerous others we don't see i would assume)
Associates; Benny Fazio, Hesh Rabkin, Tony's bodyguard.

This is my best guess at it. I think it has definitely got a little blurred. Paulie, i freely admit, may not be Underboss...especially as Sil stepped up to be acting Boss with Tony in the hospital.

I am open to suggestions and ideas on this.

Thats where you're wrong...out there its the 1990s. In here its 1952.

Silvio stepping up to boss after Tony was shot tells me that he's the underboss. Paulie runs a crew, he was shown robbing those guys in the third or fourth episode this season. I doubt that they have a Consigliarie, if they do I don't know who it would be.

As I see it:

BOSS: Tony Soprano

CONSIGLIERE: Silvio Dante

CAPOS: Paulie Gaultieri, Chris Moltisanti, Carlo Gervasi, Allie Boy Parese

SOLDIERS: Bobby Bacalieri*, Patsy Parisi, Benny Fazio**, Beppy ________

ASSOCIATES: Hesh Rabkin, Little Paulie _______

* I doubt Bobby Bacala is a capo; Janice was seen trying to get Tony to promote Bobby to capo.

** Benny may be a soldier; Tony was yelling at Artie Bucco about hitting a made-man (Benny).

aaaaah okay, i forgot about Tony bitching at Artie for hitting "made man" Benny. That clears that up.

I cant believe i forgot about little paulie, and, got AlLIE boys surname wrong! Poor knowledge!

Also...when Bobby got "a promotion" in series 4...when he was told about it in the doctors office...what was he promoted to? Surely it is to be a capo.

Aren't we forgetting Larry Boy Barese (Tony Darrow)?

We might be able to tape the gun behind it.

right ok...someone else has mentioned "lt." as a postion in the family.

Since when has there ever been a position between soldier and captain?!

this is surely not correct. How is it that the numerous books i have read on the mafia have ALL neglected this position. I dont believe there is a position called Lietenant.

Its been used on RPG's and if Bobby wasn't an LT. then what was he promoted to hes gotta be an LT. An LT. is like an underboss but for a Capt.
