the storyline about johnny sac getting a choice to rat out tony is unrealistic. He is a boss of a new york family which is 3 times as big as a new jersy family. If that storyline goes though it would be stupid. Maybe uncle jun as a rat but i doubt that. Its prolly going to be vito.

Has the Head of a Family every flipped in real life? I don't believe it's ever happened. I think Underboss Sammy Gravano is the highest ranking member to flip.

"Tony leverages Johnny's misfortune into a domestic upgrade"

Tony leverages Johnny into ratting? That's the upgrade?

By the way guys, Alphonse "Little Al" D'Arco, the acting boss of the Lucchese crime family became a rat, and to my knowledge that would count as a higher rank then underboss, at least for a temporary moment.

I love those moments. Ralphie's murder and disposal of his body was my favorite HS moment. I believe I even yelled HS out to myself!!!

I can't believe Vito went back to jersy. What was he thinking its suicide. But all in all it was a good episode besides the gay parts

Another very good episode. Next week is most likely gonna have the HS moment. Leotardo is definitely gonna go against Tony's wishes on some matter, and with Vito back home?

By the way, was that Southern businessman William Russ, the actor from Boy Meets World and the father in American History X? I'm surprised at how old he got.

The gay parts were a bit disturbing.

I would have to say, this is one of this season's better episodes. My favorite would have to be "Sacramoni Request". I like how things are actually happening in this episode. Episodes like this decide the fate of the family. It was a good episode.

I wonder why they didn't show much of chris only like 2 minutes worth. I also saw Uncle Jun is going to be in the next episode. The next episode is going to revovle around Vito and Phil wanting to kill him.

Next episode looks to be good as well. This one was definitely one of the better of this season. I thought those kids shot Bobby in the face, and yes I'll admit I did let out a holy shit at that point lol. Lots of bad things happening to people's eyes in this season....And Vito going back home...well at least no more gay scenes that means...I hope. (Who knows, the series could end with Tony turning into a homo and running off with Vito and living happily ever after! ....Or not.)

great episode. the longer ones seem to be the best. watching this show over the years really makes you see how truly un-loyal these people are. everyone talking shit about john pleading guilty just because he admitted to being apart of cosa nostra. yea thats wrong and all but c'mon with all the rats now a days you'd think they at least appreciate the fact that he didnt sell all those selfish pricks out and put them away while he cops a deal. yea he took an "easy" way out i guess in his case but he's still a stand up guy in my book.

Granted -- and I'm not normally one to post my opinions here, obviously, but -- I felt kinda the same way, if by "sucked" you meant that there wasn't so much movement.

There were a few points where I thought someone was gonna be found dead, ... but they weren't. (Sigh of relief, but at the same time -- 3 eps left and no shocking moments?)

Can't wait for next week, with Vito back in town! They set it up as if he had a heart attack or something in the bathroom this week, but he just bailed on Johnny Cakes for some reason... and there was one more point where I thought someone could be dead, but wasn't... can't recall right now...

A "set up" week I think... the last 2 should be good. Or better be, at least!

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Y'know what's really interesting to me is by now how many people you've seen that are cut throats in these crews. Phil always seems to play both sides of the field and what's interesting about Vito is that when Tony was in the hospital he was like the main one trying to stir up doubt in the rest of the crew. Then Johnny Sacs just keeps embarassing himself. Didn't Carmine imply a few seasons ago (before he died, of course) that he wanted Johnny Sacs rubbed out?

Paulie has cancer. Tony mentioned his hair falling out after the treatments. Paulie stated he hoped that wouldn't happen. has he had any treatments? If so this would mean some time has passed between episodes. The Vito gay scenes were there for the WTF value. Vito returns to Jersey, gets in an accident, and kills the guy because he wants to call the Police for the insurance company to get involved. Sopranos has been like a roller coaster ride but it is going to outlast Deadwood which is ending this season. Looks like Tony has a stalker, Vito.

Once again, I don't understand how some think this show isn't good. Last night's episode was a wonderful character insightful show. This season we're really getting to see the void of any real character that these guys have.

Tony leads the pack - he dresses down Sal, the gardener, for trying to get out of doing free work for Johnny Sac (while Sac is stuck in jail) yet he (Tony) has no qualms about taking advantage of that situation to beat Sac out of his house.

We later see how Tony is a victim of emotional blackmail (by Janice). She argues that the two of them have no real connection other than their shared DNA so Tony starts feeling guilty and does that "steal-the-house-from Johnny" thing (when he should have left better alone).

Tony is a selfish prick. He purposely backs out of helping Carmela because Carmela's dream (of building the spec house) is infringing on her time of serving him.

Vito did some soul searching and realized he missed the life too much (his "real" life). The sex aside, he misses the action and the easy money. He knows he's not cut out to be a "normal" person with a "normal" job. It'll be interesting to see how his return to Jersey fares for him (although I expect that won't be known until the final show of the season).

Great writing. Great insight. Great acting. I think that adds up to a great show.

...for no reason??

OK, it was an episode that sucked, literally! I need to watch two guys talking about how they love each other, showing how they are about to do things together in bed, and kissing? This is a fockin MOB show, and they've carried this gay thing on for too long. I want to see some mafia action.

Quote:

This is probably the first episode that I said sucked. I've really enjoyed the season up until this week. How much soap opera shit and character insight do we have to see? How about some real action. Granted what you said about this episode being one about character insight, but if you really think about it, every episode, this whole season, has been about character insight.

How about Baccala. This guy is a made man, gets f**cked up by some street punks, and nothing is done about it. Now I'll give you the fact that Chase is trying to show what a greedy and cold f**k Tony is by showing that it was no big deal to him, and then later getting the house for Bobby and Janice, but it just seems that every week we have to be shown the character insight of all those involved. After Janice bitched to Tony, I would have enjoyed it more if, like a real life mob family, they would have shown us Baccala and his guys getting even with those punks.

I realize that we cannot have hits and action like that week after week, but at the same time we don't need the soap opera antics and character insights week after week either. Think hard about it, how much real mob action have we seen this season so far?

Tony getting shot in the first epiesode, and then Frankie Vali getting killed, which was such an uneventful storyline that took 2 seconds.

The character insights are a bit too much now. I want some real cosa nostra in your face action now! Not Brokeback Mafia week after week!

Although not my favorite so far this season, I too thought this was a good episode. However to be honest, I too cringed at the Vito "love" scenes. That was probably the icing on the cake.

Bobby's attack surprised me, and Janice's pissing and moaning is annoying, but she got the house she wanted.

Johnny Sac's admission will put him in the outs, but I don't know that he had any other choice.

And another point that bothers me :

Only a few weeks ago we see Vito and Johhny Cakes rolling around in the grass. We see Vito sitting on the side of the rocks, taking in the beauty of the scenery, the foilage, etc.

Now a few episodes later we see snow on the ground!

Does anyone remember the Italian feast scenes in last weeks episode?

Were they wearing winter coats, or was it still supposed to be autumn?
