I'm sure i've seen a picture from the film either GFI or II which was deleted with Michael in a white suit and hat. I think he was holding a lupara aswell.

Now, I was expecting to see this in the DVD somewhere and I never saw it. So i'm trying to decide whether I dreamed this scene and I am going mental or it was never put onto the DVD.

In addition, i'll add how much I loved most of the deleted scenes, totally loved 'em. Theres too many to name which one's I prefered the most but one what sticks into my mind was the one that showed Fabrizio's desire for America. Here I found his character very likable although later he turns traitor.

So was I dreaming that scene I mentioned earlier?

No Turi, you're not dreaming. They started to film that particular scene in which Michael, in his white suit and with a
lupara, goes to kill Fabrizio personally in hi pizza parlor. I believe that the lupara he used was actually Fabrizio's own gun. And I also believe that scene was intended to play at the end of GF1, along with the other murders. But for some reason the scene never made it anywhere.

On a related note, I find it interesting that the scene in which Michael finally gets revenge on Fabrizio in GF2, never made it into the original version. Someone who wasnt a fanatic like we are would never have the satisfaction of knowing Appolonia's murder was avenged.

Its also strange that we never get to see Vito's house in Corleone until the third film on the normal releases... As those scenes were deleted from GF1 and GF2...

Cheers Neri. Your my Luca Brasi. I really hoped I wasn't dreaming because it was a great picture that I saw. I think I saw it when someone posted it on this board a while back. I'll try looking for it. smile

Interesting story about Michael and the white suit. For that matter, the standard photo of Michael used in poster and box art for GF II shows him in a tuxedo. I don't believe he ever appeared in a tuxedo either in I or II.

As Neri pointed out, the scene in which Michael appeared in the white fedora was left on the cutting room floor, but interestingly enough, that picture of him with the lupara (from that scene) became one of the most popular posters of the decade.

Yeah, I was rather disappointed to find out that that scene wasn't included on my bonus features disc. I mean, I didn't much mind seeing Fabrizio getting blown up...but I would have liked much better to see Michael blow him away with a lupara.
I read about that scene about 3 years ago on JG's website...and have been wanting to see it since. Guess I'll just have to wait some more.

This is late in coming but I have that photo in a paperback version of the Godfather.
Always wondered about it too.

A few stills of that deleted white-suit scene appear in Harlan Lebo's book, "The Godfather Legacy." Oh, how I would love to see that scene, but apparently it exists nowhere that any of us could see it.
