I still think it's one of the creepiest shows in recent memory (makes Twin Peaks look like the Waltons!). Plus, forgetting about the polygamy trials and tribulations, this is also a mob series of sorts, in fact my wife and I jokingly refer to it as "The Mormanos." And Prophet Roman (a shoo-in Emmy nom for Harry Dean Stanton, btw) is one scary don, no question. It'll be interesting to see how Hendrickson (the "hero" of the show, though he skeeves me as well) goes to the mattresses against this band of zealots.

I hate to admitt it but my wife and I both have become hooked on this show also. It is diffrent but has some interesting plots building. Not much else on tv after Sopranos anyway

I'v never seen it either. Is it a drama or comedy???? I really should check out some of the other shows on HBO, but for some reason, not that many sound good to me. The only shows I ever watch on HBO are the Sopranos and Real Time. They seldom have good movies on IMHO, and if they do they are maybe once a month and the movie is replayed over and over again.

I've always gotten the feeling that I'd probably really like Sex and the City actually, but I've never gotten around to watching it.

I was the same, and then my friend got them all on DVD so I borrowed them and watched every single series over a month. Very loserish sounding I know, but it got me hooked. Very few shows manage to do that to me. Anybody reading this thread know when season 6 of the Sopranos is gonna hit the Australian shores? I'm dying from withdrawals.

I love it! Laziness is now a great advertisement tool. :p

Hey, don't knock it. I'm tellin ya, I'm now hooked on "The Mormonos." And it was laziness that made me a diehard Dallas fan from day one. I can't recall the show I was watching on CBS but I saw this new show with Larry Hagman, Ginger from Gilligan's Island, and that Atlantis guy coming up next and I just left it running and the rest is history. Also, being in the throes of puberty at the time, I hit the trifecta, falling in love with Victoria Principal, Charlene Tilton, and Linda Grey instantly.

I could be wrong but I think the guy who plays the prophet is the same guy who was one of the FBI agents guarding Pentangelli in GFII. Next episode of BL and I'll find out

You're right, Bells! Harry Dean Stanton, the one and only!

My old lady and I also watch Big Love...we were sure it would be cancelled after the first season, SO contreversial, and REALLY SLOW getting up...but y'know, this last episode is a great cliffhanger. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about. H.D. Stanton is great, of course, I absolutely LOVE the pouty blonde wife (#2, right?); Bruce Dern was also damned good in this series. Of course, I personally have never seen a Bill Paxton performance I didn't like; "Boss Lady" and What's-her-Name (#3) are pretty good, too.

Yeah. We like it very much. Hope it's back next year.

Okay,
Bobbo

"Big Love" is another HBO home run. What hooks me is the bizzare premise: a semblance of American normalcy within a polygamous marriage that's fraught with pitfalls. And the women make a go of it despite all. Plus Roman, the most sinister TV character since Al Swearingen. And Nicki--oh, she's cute. All the men I know love her, all the women hate her.
