You can rent the Seasons at most video stores. Thats how I saw every episode originally, just by renting them, and then a while later I opted buy Seasons 1 and 3 rather then rent them again, but Ive since re-rented 2 and 4, and also 5.
Also, a question, to Don Corleone, which was the episode that you saw, if you remember?

Not a bad episode, the season finale of Season 5.
Im tempted to recommend certain episodes to you, the best of the show, but they're kind of all over the place, so you wouldn't get a whole lot of storyline flow, so Id have to say, if you have to time, just watch every season straight through, starting with 1.
If youd rather just sample the show, rather then committ to seeing every episode, the best episodes in my opinion are...
1. Amour Fou (Season 3) 2. Pine Barrens (3) 3. The Sopranos (1) 4. Denial, Anger, and Acceptance (1) 5. Long Term Parking (5) 6. Funhouse (2) 7. Mr. Ruggerio’s Neighborhood (3) 8. The Test Dream (5) 9. Commendatori (2) 10. Meadowlands (1)

If the DVD sets are out of your price range right now, you can still pick up the complete seasons on VHS format for about $13.00 to $25.00 per set. There is one guy on ebay right now that is selling the complete 2nd season, brand new on VHS for $12.95! Another guy is selling the complete frist season on VHS, used, for $18.95. Or better yet you can probably find them right through this site by clicking on the banner at the top, going to Amazon from there and doing a Sopranos VHS search. Don Cardi

Don Cardi That's definitely a great bargain for the VHS sets, but I've become so spoiled on DVDs, I don't think I could revert back to having to rewind, fast-forward, etc. Price has never really stopped me in the past. I'm pretty sure I'll cave in sooner or later and just drop the dough for all 5 DVD sets. I'm just trying to understand why the hell the Soprano's sets are so much more expensive than any other TV show box set.

I was astonished by the high prices for the DVDs in the US and GB too. I guess we are pretty lucky with the way cheaper set prices over here in Germany. I payed for each of the first 2 seasons 25 Euros. The 3rd and 4th are @ 35 Euros right now... Oh boy, over 60 $ for a season is pretty much

I feel like I've missed so much. The episode I saw was incredible. I know its definitely a show I would get into if I saw it on a regular basis.
I chalk it up to not having HBO, and refusing to pay $300 for all 5 seasons.
Speaking of the steep price, why the hell are the Sopranos season box sets so much more expensive than box sets for other shows? Dont feel bad Don, I havent even seen 1 single episode!

The DVDs arent crazy money anymore in the UK.
I got all the seasons for £23 each. The usual high street outlets drop their xmas prices and then there is the usual low internet prices from the likes of play.com/tesco.com/amazin.co.uk etc etc
Also another way...in the UK at least...go to places like Gamestation and buy the pre-owned versions for half retail price. They are guaranteed perfect condition. Apparently there are tons of people who buy one dvd, trade it in and get another and trade that in and get another...hence lots of pre-owned movies and games.
I got Season 5 this way and its absolutely fine...no trouble whatsoever.
ALSO....for those who havent seen it yet....START!!!
and dont go it randomly...start at the pilot and go through...you won't regret it!

Thats where you're wrong...out there its the 1990s. In here its 1952.

Well, I've seen exactly zero episodes of 'The Sopranos'. So if you are a 'bad' person, then take heart, you're not quiet as bad as me. Super wierdo, Apple

I also got into the Sopranos rather late. I've bought each boxset on DVD and think it's the best television I've seen in years. I also felt some shame at never having watched it in the first place but the £29.99 spent on each boxset was well worth it. Roll on series 6!!
