Quick Question-

What was Carmella planning on building on her new

600K acre of land?

She was building a spec house. Basically, what happens is you buy a piece of land and build an obscenely garish house on it, speculating that you can sell for far more than the cost you put into it...

Nah, didnt you hear what Silvo said while ripping her out of the car. I dont think there was many feelings between the two except for Silvios anger.

Yes I did, Mr. Huntz; but not until second viewing of the episode last evening.

Still, those scenarios set forth by the Sun Times (ref: my earlier posting) are all plausible.

An additional thought of mine: if the "creator" (or whoever has artistic control over the production) wanted Adriana dead, dead, dead, she would have shown as such. Stars have evidently agreed to be shown as violence victims (they seem to be exempt from frontal nudity lest we recall Carmella's "fling"), and Adriana has certainly been on the wrong end of it enough times before.

I'm not sure how this woulda helped really, maybe I'm just naive-but-what if Ade told Chris earlier. Like when the FEDS first started to bug her. Would it have made a difference?? And if so, why the heck didn't she?? It's not like Adrianna willingly went to the FBI, she could've told Christopher first thing.
Maybe I just wish she didnt get killed. She really was an innocent, aside from the ho-ish make-up and big hair. She really loved that guy. Sucks..oh and did anybody else think that choking scene was painfully real looking?? I wonder if-i dont know some of the scenes when Chrissy goes nuts an beats her up-it looks real as HELL. Maybe Drea takes real hits(lol). That would be dedication.

Nah, not really. Being the fiance of a made guy, she would have been expected to take her lumps (no pun intended) and do her time quietly like anyone else. She risked getting herself killed, and eventually was killed, to avoid going to jail.

Probably the silliest thing about the whole show is that they make the Feds so infatuated with having a Soldier's girlfriend wired, when for 3 years no they've had a Captain wired (Raymond Curto), and it's like he doesn't even exist. They don't even write him
out of the show. He's still on the show as a Captain, but the wire was totally forgotten about.

After watching the eppisode for a second time, I have come tot he conclusion that I would have liked it better if Adriana actually did run away, instead of just imagined it in Silvio's car.

They haven't forgotten it. Did you see Episode 2 of this season, "Rat Pack"? Raymond Curto, speaking with the FBI agents and helping them interpret wiretaps, was featured prominently in that episode.

Also, you need to keep something in mind about Curto. Because of the health problems of his son (who has multiple sclerosis), Curto is not as heavily involved in mob activity as he used to be. Chances are, he's the captain whose crew earns the least. As a result, he's likely not as close to the boss, Tony, as the FBI would like him to be.

Adriana is a finer catch for the Feds. She is the finacee of someone in Tony's crew. Not only that, but her fiancee is Tony's relative. Adriana and Christopher actually are often in Tony's home. She can get in Tony's inner circle.

Adriana's potential for uncovering valuable info for the Feds was much greater than Ray Curto's.

The reason why Curto hasn't been caught, unlike the other four "rats" in the Soprano Family (Jimmy Altieri, Pussy Bonpensiero, Jack Masserone, and Adriana) is that he's a pretty sharp guy. Don't forget, Raymond Curto was nearly made boss after Jackie Aprile Sr's death. He refused the promotion because of his son's health problems.

I bet through it all, Raymond is going to somehow avoid exposure as an informant and survive.

i gotta say I agree with you alex (btw, welcome to the boards!! ). It reminded me why I love this show so damn much. I mean, it was beginning to become routine to watch the show, and frankly a bit boring. Still the best thing on television-period-but this episode was above the norm.

It was first revealed in Episode 2 of Season Three, the episode where Livia dies of a stroke. There is a brief scene of Raymond Curto meeting an FBI agent in a parking lot of an Office Depot.
He says to the agent, "Tony Soprano's mother's wake is tonight. Want me to wear a wire?"

This is the first time we learn Ray is cooperating with the Feds. Exactly when and how he flipped, we don't know yet. We may never find out.

It might have happened around the time of Episode 11 of Season One, "Nobody Knows Anything", the episode where Big Pussy is suspected of being a rat and disappears. There is a vice bust by the cops on a bordello, and snared in the arrests are Detective Vin Makazian (who later committed suicide) and... capo Raymond Curto.

This MIGHT be when the Feds got him to flip. But no one knows for sure.

Incredible episode, perhaps the best one ever. Simple as that.

Had the lot in one little package, so many storylines progressed to breaking point!

The finale is surely going to be a bloodbath at a fast pace, especially compared to series four finale.

Cannot wait, this series has just been perfection so far and will be going out on one hell of a high by the looks of things.

I've got to assume that the race to find Tony B is won by Tony S. He already knows where he is hiding out, so the preview showing Tony B being stalked down is perhaps misleading.

Mr Leotardo has been a bit player for the most part but looks to have entered the principal stage at just the right time, incredible scene for the sit down to discuss where the two families stood with each other.

Bring on the finale!!

Incredible episode indeed. And I thought last week's was a corker!

Talk about the Feds being quick when flipping people: Tony and co took a page right out of their book with whacking poor Adrianna. One of the most harsh, brutal (although it happened offscreen) and tragic deaths on The Sopranos--definitely up there with Pussy's.

I always wondered how they'd (inevitably) kill Adrianna off. I was expecting something as emotional as Pussy's, and in a way it was, but I was surprised that Chrissy didn't do it. Excellent writing and directing in order to keep the ambiguity up right til Sil turned off up that deserted path...

De Meo's acting was phenomenal in the car. Her mascara-stained face said it all; no words needed. You really dfelt for her, what with all the world now crumbling round her.

Tony's character was as fascinating as ever, too (though no Melfi in this episode? ). His happiness at the table with AJ and Carm (one of the most embarrassing scenes to watch in the history of the series, IMO, such was the realism).

Somewhat disappointed and surprised by Tony's "soft" side regarding the sitdown with Johnny. He let Phil insult him, lost face, and didn't even react when Johnny threatened him AND his FAMILY, which I always thought would turn out to be the catalyst to Tony's boiling over with Johnny. Bit of a nice consolation scene, though, in which Tony thinks for a second, then says to Johnny "Go fuck yourself."

Lots of action next week! I sincerely hope Tony B doesn't go. If he does, though, and Tony has something to do with its sanctioning, I don't think he will ever recover, guilt-wise. He's never been the same since killign Pussy, his best friend; imagine if he whacked his own cousin?

Roll on next week!
Mick
