once again, Buffalo, NY!
Friends and family gather at the Sopranos' for a not-so-surprise 75th birthday party for Carmela's father, Hugh. Meanwhile, Johnny Sack shows off his new wheels, Phil Leotardo pulls into Pussy's old place for some auto repairs, and Tony B. considers accepting a familiar job on the side. Don't miss the all new episode of the Sopranos "Marco Polo" this Sunday, April 25th, at 9 PM ET.

Sounds like another snoozer. The season was doing so good too! But who knows, it could still be good.

not a bad episode. tony n carmellas little pool fling was a surprise, tony B whacking Joey was another nice surprise (though his clumsiness in fights and hits is ) next weeks episode looks interesting, but all the previews make them seem that way, lol

over all I'd say it was a pretty decent episode. Tony B. checking out Carm's ass was nice, also him getting his hands dirty at the end was a surprise.

Good eppisode, and after the last two weeks, it seems like a great eppisode. Tony B was the star this week yet again, and him taking out Joey, could turn out to be a big thing. Also, my new least favorite charater on the show is now Carmella's mother. What a bitch.

A chance to see Meadow in a swinsuit is alway good.

Tony going after Carmella was a surprise.

I can’t wait until Johnny takes care of Lil Carmine. I hope Tony will take Johnny’s side.

Tony took great pride in raking some over the coals in this episode - Pussy's wife and Carmela. (Did you notice the smile of "satisfaction" when he told Angie that SHE had to handle the Phil Leontardo issue HERSELF, and also when he told Carmela "he'd see what he could do" [about attending Hugh's party])?

Carmela saw the way Tony was enjoying his time with Meadow, and she was quick to come to Tony's defense when pointing out her mother's friends were snobs. Look for Tony and Carmela to get back together again (albeit maybe not this season).

OK....Frankie Valli put out a hit (which Cousin Tony did) to avenge the shooting death on the female bookie. Didn't he ever hear the song, "Big Girls Don't Cry"??

A little irony-coincidence. The radio is now playing "Sherri, Baby" by the Four Season (as I was reading SC's post.) It would have freaked me out if it was "Big Girls Don't Cry."

Tony was feeling his oats with a little family control (as SC pointed out.) He just loves to bully people.

A comical observation: When Tony and Carmella were in the pool having their conversation prior to the groping/kiss - did anyone notice how the water distortion gave them midget bodies and big heads. I wonder if the director did that purposely for some symbolism? Big egos. The pool setting neutralized them; took them out of their usual confrontational element. It made it easy for them to find common ground - the family and past feelings.
If they were in the kitchen the kiss wouldn't have happened.

I thought it was a good episode. I agree that Carm's mom is snobby and didn't realize that her dad was so fond of Tony.

Frankie Valli has been surprisingly effective in his role, and looks the part.

One thing though, clarify for me please, exactly who was the couple that Cousin Tony whacked???

I thought the funniest part was with Junior calling Carm's Father up to tell him the news about the party. Joey getting whacked was a nice added touch. I thought that they were going to clip Phil. Joey was a minor player IMHO. I also found it interesting that Little Carmine is now in Jersey. This has the making for an all out war. Tony looked peeved in next weeks episode when finding out that it was Tony B who pulled the trigger for Little Carmine.

Good episode that stopped the bleeding after last weeks. They had the can't miss formula last night.

BBQ Pool Party at the Sopranos Home
Inject a little of Classic Junior
Some Mob Bussiness sprinkled in throughout

I do have two Questions

1. Was the hit suppose to be on the girl and Joey was in the wrong place at the wrong time or the other way around.

2. Did I miss the scene a few weeks back when they wacked Adrianna, because I have'nt seen her in like three weeks.

DMF,

Adrianna was not whacked. A couple episodes ago there was a rumor that she and Tony had something going, and Christopher beat her, but she is still around. As a matter of fact, she and Christopher were in last night's episode at Carmella's father's party, although in the background and very briefly.

The hit was suppossed to be on Joey but the girl was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Tony B couldn't leave any witnesses.

I will have to watch again. I thought they told Tony B it was a girl. I thought the hit was in retaliation for the boat. As sick as its sounds killing the inocent girls sends the correct message and is also a sure way to decrease the revenue at the brothel.

If they were going to take out one of Johnny Sacs captains I don't think they would go outside there own family and if so not to a member of the Soprano family.

Also TIS I was joking about Adrianna, I know she was'nt whacked. What I was getting at was that after she took part in clearly the best episode this season she has dissapeared. They have'nt expanded on that story line yet.

The hit on Joey was in retaliation for his killing the female bookie a few episodes back (the same one that Phil Leontardo tried to shoot through the telephone book).

Tony B was told that Joey had to go for killing Lorraine. Lorraine and Little Carmine went to school together.

PP, I believe Little Carmine's house and boat dock are in Long Island. He mentioned a name of the town or area last night, but I don't recall exactly, but I did recognize it as a Long Island (NY) location.

.... and we really haven't seen Paulie or Silvio in the last two episodes. Probably with the new characters introduced there is not as much time for the old favorites. ??

They did tell Tony B that he'd have to kill a girl. I didn't realize the reason. So am I correct in understanding that this young girl was killed simply for revenge for Lorraine getting whacked??? How cold!!

Gee TIS, I don't think that is what was said. They said Joey had to be killed for killing a girl (some code of honor thing?). The prostitute that got killed with Joey was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was just giving her a ride.

Ok, maybe I totally misunderstood, but I swear that Frankie Valli said to Tony B., something to the effect of if he had problem killing a woman?". I'll have to watch again I guess since I am so confused on this issue.

TIS - I THINK that reference to killing the girl was made about the woman bookie. I, too, have to watch the episode again.

I dunno why, but I haven't been taping this season's episodes....I really should!

Another observation then, I didn't take the girl as a prostitute. I mean, she didn't look like one. Not that I can say I am familiar with the prostitute world. :p Or am I stereotyping prostitutes???

The killing of Joey was retribution for him killing Lorraine. I believe that the girl with Joey was a high class prostitute that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
