Should be a pretty exciting show tonight. Carmine, Sac and Paulie have a good chance on getting whacked.

Leonard: I dont know. See, I have this condition.
Teddy: Well, I hope its not as serious as his, 'cos this guy's dead.

Is business "dead" today Cam???

I do hope they go into the FBI/Adrianna story and show How Christopher is doing the rehab.

Don't risk a bad grade on a final exam to watch The Sopranos. There will be reruns, or you can tape it like CD suggested.

Study or no study, i'll put everything on hold. It's the season finale, so i can sacrifice 75 minutes of studying. When you're studying, you always need a break, right? What better way to take a break and watch the most important episode of this season?

Did they even need an extra 20 minutes for that?

Seems like any subplots that were solved were exchanged for just many more subplots.

It just went on and on about subjecys that could of been solved in much less time.

Kinda dissapointing.

Good solid show..Not a season final but a good solid show...wished several others were that well done.
Acting was the best of the season...Carm did a great job and the story line what was really got us. That came from out of the blue...

Just as always you never know who is going to get whack..twisted us again...No one major so all of us lost our bets.

I waited and watched the clock click by...and wanted something big to happened, but just another lose ending... Nothing left in the wind to wait for...BIG DEAL Tonys moving out...wouldn't call that a clif hanger or a I just can't wait to see what happens next move.

They better not make us wait to long for the next season, because this one was a little bit of a let down only because you know in your heart that it could be better. Not that it isn't great, but you can see some faults....

Holy Crapfest Batman!!!

Wow Carmella and Tony might get a divorce. I waited 13 weeks for this? No one even got killed except for the two black guys but who gives a s**t about that.

Oh and everyone dont worry I did all my studying beforehand and expect no problems on my exams tomorrow. But thanks for the thoughts

I can't get into all of it right now but I just wanted to throw out that I thought this was the best episode in a long time, probably since season 2. It had me yelling at the TV for them to get back together. I was reminiscing just like the kids were. No more Tony strolling down the driveway in his robe getting his paper, no more kids coming down for breakfast, no more family BBQs, no more Tony in the pool chasing ducks.

Very good episode. The Sopranos has always been about his family. The mafia and mob stuff was just the backdrop.

If Edie Falco doesn't win every award in the book for tonight's performance, there is no justice.
She was incredible. Absolutely Mesmerizing.

I thought it was a terrific episode.

I agree with you, CD. It was a solid show, but not worthy of a season finale. Where was the surprise, where was the cliffhanger? I kinda figured that Carm would snap sooner or later since Furio left, but I really didn't want them to base the whole episode on that and the house that they were gonna buy.

As the minutes ticked by, I kept wondering when the huge surprise was gonna come. When they spent a couple minutes on Meadow crying in her room, I thought she was gonna slit her wrists or take some pills or something. Or when Tony went out to meet Johnny Sac to tell him that he wasn't going to whack Carmine, I thought that maybe Johnny was gonna get clipped. But nothing happened.

I was hoping that maybe Tony would realize how much he loved Carm and he would beg and stuff, but it never happened. I hope that the fifth season isn't spent with Tony and Carm in marriage counseling. Maybe Tony will feel like he has less to live for, so he's gonna go all out on Johnny if shit happens with Carmine. Then that would be a logical lead-in to his eventual death.

A solid episode but as C. Don said not a season finale. The speakers at the water side property were hilarious and its good to see Chris back on his feet again. A couple of great shots of Meadow and one of Irina. Uncle Jun walked, no surprise there and maybe his annoyance of Bobby B. and Janice will evolve into a subplot of its own. Overall it was a bit disappointing but there was no way it could have lived up to the hype. Carmine went down to 15 points on the HUD scam and Tony could have probably pushed down to 12.5 even. A little sidenote, I'm pretty sure the guy who played the property owner was a Mob lawyer and Masucci Family in-law on a few classic episodes of Law & Order. Well, scripts for next season are in early development and although this season was probably not as bad as a lot of people thought, lets hope season 5 is truly worthy of The Soprano name.

Huge let down. What the hell was that ending supposed to make us feel?

I think they shouldve just ended it with extending Meadows flashback to make us feel her sorrow since it really was all about the seperation. Sortve like the way GF2 ended when they showed the family having dinner at the table after Fredo was taken care of on the boat.

The program on now (Cathouse) is pretty good...

Yeah, ditto on the "not a season finale" caliber of a show, but otherwise decent. Overall a disappointing season for me, ranked 4th out of 4. I guess Chase is being smart calling it quits after next season - I guess they just don't have the really great storylines anymore...

Guess next week it'll be Malcom in the Middle

If you want shoot em ups and gangsters, then watch Casino or Scarface. That is not, and never was what this show was about.

The biggest entity on this show just got whacked. The Soprano family is no more. How much bigger can that get?

I'm already having withdrawls. Who said there has to be cliffhangers? What was the cliffhanger after season 2 or 3?

There's still unresolved issues. That's not a bad thing.

Well, although they weren't really "cliffhangers," season 2 ended with Pussy getting whacked, and season 3 ended with Jackie Jr. taking one in the back of the head. I guess with the Sopranos a "cliffhanger" means that someone major will get whacked and we spend the next several months anticipating what it will do to the family.

How many times have we seen have we really seen Tony and Carmella's role as a close and important part of the storyline, recently anyways?

I don't know if how it was how they did the break up,or just how I felt about them, but other than her outburst,I really didn't care.I just don't think their break up is going to impact the show that much. Maybe it was the whole "out of no where Furio gets Carmella in fits of passion" but it didn't so much for me. Carmella and Tony being a couple has really been diminished by all the other, important and interesting storylines.

I think I'm just in denial about the separation... there's no way it can continue that long... right?

No, we don't NEED a clift hanger ending, but we do need a quality ending. After all we are not unreasonable men here! We are fans and any great star knows to keep fans you have to give them something, and raise the bar each time. You are only as good as your last show. The bar is always being raised...

I agree that the cathouse show was a good almost an hour, but how much of that can you watch, surely not each and wever week...

and to tell the truth if Chase need some story lines or some feedback on his show, he should come here and take somethngs off our board.

Maybe it is time for fresh Ideas, and he could just use his great talent on putting them on air.
Show doesn't have to end because he get burned out. I bet his swollen head wouldn't allow him to let others take the lead, like most they think it is all them and no one else.
Just like some actors who think they ARE the whole show..yea right...

Pussy getting whacked in season 2 was huge, but totally expected, we just didn't know how. Jackie Jr. getting whacked in season 3 was no big deal. He wasn't a major character and was offered the least amount of risk. Season 4, the Soprano family gets whacked. Very major. The biggest thing, outside of Tony getting whacked, that could happen.

The show is called The Sopranos.

I've never experienced a divorce personally but have been close to two of them and they captured the mood and feeling perfectly.

Upon further review, it wasn't that bad, I guess. You make an excellent point, Oblong, about the show being about Tony's "Two Families", and a split-up with his wife is about as major an event, short of death, that can take place.

And it is a "cliff hanger". It has me wondering if they'll reconcile next season. Should be lotsa work ahead for Dr. Melfi, anyway.

I agree. First season was a perfect blend of family, off-the-wall humor, action and Mob derring-do. This season was true to Chase's prediction about being oriented toward family, but it was lopsided: I was constantly expecting more. Last night was an excellent family stress drama, with world-beating acting from Edie Falco (always the best performances on the show), but where was the balance? Very unsatisfying. I think Chase is jerking our collective chain.
