I don't have HBO but I noticed last night that our local video store carries the episodes on video, is the show REALLY good enough to justify spending the money to rent the videos and to see what all the fuss is about?

It is SOOOOOOO worth the money. I actually went out and bought the DVDs for both season 1 and 2 without ever seeing a single minute of the show. That was over a $100 gamble, and after seeing the first two or three episodes, I was hooked and the purchase was definitely worth it. Give the first few episodes a shot and I'm sure you'll love it.

I'll tell ya' something odd, Scarlett: I felt the same way about seeing it from the beginning as you did, but could never catch the first two discs of season 1 in at Blockbuster. So, I went ahead and rented the last 2 discs of season 1 (beginning with "Boca"), and it was love at first sight. Like Don Corpuzzi, Tony S., and Don Palentino, I rushed right out to Best Buy, plopped down my $$$ and bought the first 2 seasons without ever seeing it on HBO. Worth every penny.

They are worth every penny...I actually started a thread somewhat similar to this asking if they are worth it and trust me, THEY ARE!!!

Scarlett,

I just started watching it about a year ago. I had to rent the first 3 seasons, and was hooked after the first couple episodes. I, just this year broke down and got HBO only for the Sopranos.

I don't know of anyone who watches it that doesn't think it is "great". Do keep us posted.
