Just yesterday, a french paper ("le parisien"), say that after the 5th season, the Sopranos will end... Because David Chase wants to write a book... James Gandolfini ans the others says that without him, they are going to stop too.

And i'm sad.

This is the begining of the text. He's not in totaly because the archives's site is not free. :

Paru le : 19/08/2002
Titre : Canal Jimmy, 13 h 15, 17 h 40 et 1 h 40/ « Les Soprano » vont s'arrêter
Documentaire

Is anyone have more infos about that ?

This isn't news. David Chase has been saying all along that Sopranos will end after this (and sometimes last) season-- maybe. I think this is partly his own eccentricity, partly a need to make people yearn for more "Sopranos," although I think he's shot himself in the foot this time by waiting so long for the next (final?) season debut. What's new here is that the article says he's going to retire to the South of France to write a book. I'm constantly reading in Paris Match that one Anglo celebrity after another is buying property there. The latest, I think, is the réalisateur, David Lynch. He gave a nice interview in Paris Match in which he said he valued French audiences because they were more "discerning." "Really?" asked the interviewer. "I don't know a single Frenchman who made sense of 'Mulholland Drive.' " "Alors," said Lynch, "my films aren't supposed to be obvious."

Speaking of the Sopranos James Gandolfini and Edie Falco are on the covers of The T.V Guide magazine.

Leonard: I dont know. See, I have this condition.
Teddy: Well, I hope its not as serious as his, 'cos this guy's dead.

It's very hip for American and English wealthy celebrities to settle in France for a while and write a book or songs. Seems to be the latest craze these days. Tax evasion ??? Switzerland is usually the next country they choose...

Oh well, just my 2 cents...

Well according to the following website.

Sopranos

David Chase signed on to do a fifth season. I guess after that, it ends.

Thanks everybody for the answers. I'm not coming that often here, because of my english who is not so good, and also because i'm a member of another forum (a french one), Devil Dead , and it's hard to be on both in the same time. Anyway.
I don't understand why they all want to come in here, in south france for write... I don't get it either. But when you know that it's in france where Oliver Stone wrote "Scarface"... we can hope, that David Chase will come back with a good script sometime... or a very good book. Who knows.

That would be a bit ironic the Sopranos finishing for ever before I even got to see a show

again it is just to get more money from HBO, who are cheap when it comes to paying for their shows. Remember there are no spots to sell to get funds up for the show. It is not like the Super Bowl where they can get Millions for a 60 second spot to help cover costs. If they need the show to fill in and keep people paying each month, they will. Like anything else tho, the stars want more and more and there is just so much to give. The old goose that laid the golden egg then kicked it when it s head got so big it couldn't see its feet.

I hope to see more action on the next season...They already did a few seasons getting you to know all the characters....

Hi,
I was reading that both the actors and Chase are actually signed for six seasons. Interesting.
