While I am aware that there are people who are here who do not wish to see a fourth film in any capacity (myself not included) how ever, there are those of who do. But why is it? Is it because we feel that the story is not complete? Or is it because we miss the way we felt when we first saw the Godfather? Or is it because we miss great story telling in films? There have been very few films since that have captivated us with its storytelling, not with stunts or gimmicks. So perhaps the reason we wish most for there to be a fourth film is to hear a great story that is relatively fresh besides our special fascination with the trilogy itself.

I agree with you, i dont think the story is incomplete because the whole three movies are centered around Michael and we all know the ending of the third one, but in spite of that, i would love to see a fourth one win don vincenzo corleone because i dont want that the other caracters die with michael.

Welcome to the boards Astorre Viola!

I think its that some of us watch the trilogy and are thirsty for more. I myself was not in favor of a fourth Godfather, but some of these plots are are beginning to change my mind.

Thirst? I drink my Godfather with a shot of vodka to complement the rich taste of celluloid and the shoe polish from Marlon Brando's hair.

I really dont want to see one, because the chance for it to be as good as the first 2 is near impossible. But I think we (in general) can never have enough of it. I think we as fans will always be wanting more.

For me the story is complete. But I think there are more stories to tell that exist in the Godfather universe. I can't wait to read the new book. That will fuel my interest for a Part IV even more.

I know that a Part IV will probably be worse than Part III (which could mean that it is still pretty good, considering that most movies today are shit) and that would tarnish the legacy even more.

However, any chance to get excited about going back into this world is an offer I can't refuse. I'd see a Part IV no matter how bad it was, who was in it, or who directed it. That's just me. And I could walk away and say that the first 3 films are still great.

I think if they made a 4th one it would turn out good, not as good as pt1 or 2, but hopefully they learned from their mistakes from pt3.

I basically want one to redeem part III, to end on a good note.

I just don't want the story to end basically. It's like with the Sopranos, I love it so much it pains me to think of the story being dead after next season. I doubt we'll see a fourth one however.

I think the problem is that with Puzo dead, Coppolla isn't likely to do it and I sure don't want to see someone else direct a GF movie. Then again, Coppolla said that he did get to write some of the early scenes with Puzo so maybe if he still got a screenwriting credit even though worked little that would be satisfactory. Coppolla basically admitted to doing 3 for the money so maybe he's not so worried about purists opinions on whether Puzo is ultimately involved.

With Coppola involved, I would approve from day one.

With anyone else involved, I would have my doubts, but I would eagerly await the movie. I mean come on, can you refuse another Godfather? As long as they got the leftovers from the original cast back, why wouldn't any GF fan be intrigued? It's not going to make I, II, III any worse!
