How would you like it when the fourth movie was telling the story of the other NY families?

In the same periode as Vito started his oil import company with Tessio and Clemenza.

What were the businneses of Barzini and the other guys in that time, how did they start their families.

I would not like it at all.

My fascination is with the Corleone Family.
I have an emotional attachment to that family and
to its diverse characters.

It would seem like disloyalty to take an interest in the affairs of families run by lesser men like Barzini.

I rooted for the Corleones and nobody else.

Rogier,

First of all a late "welcome" to the boards!

I don't think that is a bad idea at all! I love that time period you are referring to and I think it would be interesting to tell a story of one of the other families. However, I don't think it would be a sequel to GF, which is probably good in the long run. I think it could possibly be another good "Gangster" movie.

I agree with WG, that we all love the Corleones and if their story has been told to completion, why not another good flick about another family? With the right actors/directors, who knows, could be a good movie.

it will never work off course, but in the spirit of Maurice's idea, a story (30's, 40's, 50's, even 90's or 2000's, whatever) about some gangsters living in the same fictional Puzo world the Corleone's did (if it would be now, a gangster movie when some of the characters have a short encounter with Kay Michelson or Don Vincent, without giving too much attention to their story) would be nice to see.

I know a example of this happened with the Aaron Spelling tv-series Melrose Place and Models Inc: Heather Locklear's character (MP) Amanda's mother was the leading character in Models Inc, and some of the episodes cross the storylines.

Maybe an idea for a new gangstermovie. With some Corleone involved.

What about a movie about Luca Brasi pre-Corleone?

As much as I am dedicated to the Corleone Family, it might be kinda interesting to learn how some of their rivals got started...

I agree Don Mikey,

I suppose we all want another GF, but would it really be expecting too much to expect the masterpiece of GF 1 & 11? Even tho I would love to see more of Young Vito's rise to power and Michael/Sonny, in their more youthful days. However I don't see why they couldn't make a movie, separate from GF, and base it on one of the other families. With the right actors/directors/writers,etc. who knows, it could be another GF. Sounds like a good idea to me.

I agree.

Any connection with the Godfather movie(s) can't be within the title or the subtitle I think (nothing like "Mario Puzo's The Barzini's" or whatever).
