Well, it doesn`t mean I am in a funny mood today because of my questions, but this is one I always wanted to ask and I always forgot it.

Are there any gangsters who are gay?
Can anyone be "made" if they know he is gay?

There appears to be at least one gay or bi-sexual member of the Sopranos. I've never heard of one in real life Mafia familes. Besides the Mafia has a "Don't tell, don't get whacked" policy.

Well actually, the episode of the Sopranos where Vito Spat turns out to be a gay mobster was based on a real life New Jersey mobster named Johnny Boy D'Amato. Johnny Boy's girlfriend compalined to other family members that Johnny Boy had been hanging out in gay clubs and having sex with other men. Needless to say Johhny Boy D'Amato was wacked by his own people out of fear that their rivals would find out about Johnny Boy being a homosexual and use it against them.

DC, I think it was you or SC was saying one of Dellacrocce's sons was gay right?

Yes, you are correct DMC. However I don't beleieve that he was a part of the "family business." That is why Mr. Neil embraced John Gotti the way that he did. Taking him under his wing and treating Gotti like his own son.

Except D'Amato, the only one I can think of is Colombo captain Greg Scarpa.
It is said that Scarpa was gay or bi-sexual.

But if he was he wouldn't tell his fellow mobsters.

I dont know if he was gay or bisexual, but he was a tough guy. One of the toughest around.

If I'm not mistaken (and I could be), Scarpa died of AIDS, but the cause was a tainted blood transfusion, not homosexual contact. And yes, he was one tough dude.

Turnbull, you don`t need to be homosexual to get AIDS, it depends on how you take care about yourself. A couple of homosexual(I am not, and I am not defending them)can live without getting ill if they take care,in a couple(meaning a man and a woman)one of them can get AIDS from the one another if they don`t take care about precautions.

Arthur Ashe, the famous tennis champion, also died of AIDS contracted from a tainted blood transfusion. In fact, quite a few unfortunate people were similarly infected until hospitals and blood banks started testing donors.
DPN, you misread my reply.

Why you think Joe Bonanno was naive?

Do you know who Joe Bonanno is?? [/b][/quote]Of Course! The boss of the Bonanno Family between 1931 and 1968, he attemped with Joe Magliocco to whack Carlo Gambino and Thomas Lucchese to become Il Capo di tutti Capi but another "Joe", Colombo sold him to the Commission and was asked to explain the plot, but he didn`t admit anything and went in the wind and after appearing 1 or 2 years later he was forced to retire. He died in 2002, but my question is why some people think he was naive?

Another one, a gangster who is gay has nothing to do but waiting to be killed and no discussion?

Thats what I thought..... they were referring (above) to a former member here named Joe Bonnano, NOT the real mobster.

And who was that "Joe Bonanno" who was a member here and why he is naive like everybody says, of course if I can afford to ask this question and allowed to do it...
