Who whacked Carmine Galante for blowing up Frank Costello's tomb?

The Commission ordered the hit on Galante after he started warring (mostly with the Genovese Family) over the control of drug rackets.

Galante was a psycho and he was pretty well feared. It didn't help that he swore he'd make Carlo Gambino suck his d**k in the middle of Times Square, but his war was costing the Mob a lot of money and getting them unwanted attention so the bigshots voted he die.

Actually, why did he blew up Frank's tomb?

'This was just another Bronx tale.'

The general belief is Galante was sending a message - he was saying "the old way of doing things is over now". Carmine got out of jail one year after Costello died. He intended to become the Boss of Bosses and had no qualms about how he did it. He was, in effect, saying the times have changed now and he was the boss.

Destroying the tomb of the dead is the highest mark of disrespect, enemy or no.

Thieves were looking for jewelry. They took his body out of the casket and rummaged through it before running away when groundskeepers came up. They left the body out of the casket.

When did this happen? Was Carmine Galante among the jewelry thieves or he acted alone just to show he was the boss of bosses with no intention to steal anything?
