i think that gangsters will never be forgotten, nearly everyone everywhere whether on the right or wrong side of the law will have knowledge of a deceased gangster and thats just the way it is, because they are such a recognisable force in the world.

That is a great way to sum it up, films and books help to make sure gangsters are not forgotten even if they are not based on real events.

There's a fine line between being famous and being notorious.

Sure they die.

How many of us know more than, say, 50 infamous names from the annals of criminal history? (and we're so called "fans" of the genre).

Yeah, the names of Gambino, Capone and Lansky will live on for a few more generations, but names like Einstein, Mozart and Washington will live on a hell of a lot longer.

The good guys like Mozart and Washington are only remembered better because people want them to be but gangsters are just as important in world history.

Oh well I'm still going to see it.Son Of Italy throwing a fit about it pisses me off though. They're voices for fucks sake. Little kids arent going to say "That shark sounds Italian.I bet every single Italian I meet is a mobster"

Why don't you go ask Hoffa if he died?
