I have listed several names in this poll. Who do you think was the biggest miscast for their character in The GF III?

Don Cardi cool

Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

Good afternoon Don Cardi! wink

Good poll btw. Well, I won't pick Mary, only because we pick on her a lot. tongue

I had no problem with Anthony, and although Geroge Hamilton is definitely no Tom Hagen, I don't "hate" him as much as some of you do.

I went with Altobello. I didn't care for Wallach's performance at all. He seemed to overact, and unlike some of the other characters, his hand movements and gestures just didn't seem convincing. He didn't seem Italian to me, if that makes sense. ohwell

I went with Wallach. He was more like a senescent zayda than an evil Don capable of trying to bring down Michael. mad

I strongly disagree with you - Wallach character was supposed to be just the way it was :

An old charming snake.

Personally I HATED George Hamilton in that movie! An overtanned, overacting character. What the hell was FFC thinking on that one! Hamilton was better off sticking to the Dracula character that he played in Love At First Bite. He was definately more convincing in that role!

I always liked Wallach as an actor. I had no problem with his performance. Maybe someone can come with a good answer to as why Altobello would turn on Michael. I can't come up with the definitive reason. Was he that connected to Zasa and/or Lucchesi?

Eli Wallach was just fine, IMO.

I hated George Hamilton, but he wasn't nearly as bad as Sophia.

It's no coincidence that she had no acting career after GF III.

I agree with you Don Cardi. That was a big waste of money having him in that movie. FFC should've spent that money giving his daughter acting lessons. rolleyes

I thought she did a good acting when there was about 3 minutes left in the movie lol

That scene should have been at the beginning of the movie. I think the movie would have been better if it showed how he reacted to his daughter being killed and what he did to seek revenge (Godfathinator anyone? lol )

The worst person in the whole story is the guy who had the idea of its filming first. I'm not yet desperate to find out who it was, and where's his pizzeria... grin

I had to go with George Hamilton man that was a mistake casting him.

Sophia's acting didn't bother me nearly as much as George Hamiltons acting did.

George Hamilton and Sophie Coppola. I don't know who was worse.

I woke up this morning with nothing to do and went to bed with only half of it done.

Another miscast would be Briget Fonda for her role as Grace,FFC paid her alot more money than she should have been.Could have used that money to pay for Robert Duvell. As briget was only in the film for about 5-10 mins smile

I agree with DE NIRO. Seeing Robert Duvall (Tom Hagen) in The Godfather Part III would make the movie much more enjoyable. It's a shame he "died".

Definitely Hamilton. Poor Tom Hagen would have been rolling in his coffin if he had seen who was to replace him..... grin

I'll add another two cents to the George Hamilton thing. He is not only a worse actor than Robert Duvall, he wasn't as good a lawyer as Tom Hagen. There is no way on earth Tom Hagen would have not seen through the stipulation that the Corleone Control over Immobiliare was not a done deal until it was ratified by the Pope in Rome.
