I read somewhere he was based upon or named after a man named Arnold Rothstein; was this the same Arnold Rothstein who was the hero of Hyman Roth in The Godfather? If he was only named after Arnold Rothstein, who was Sam Rothstein's character actually based upon; was he a real person?

Well the charchter of Ace Rothstein is based on the real life person Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal.

Arnold "Bankroll" Rothstein was the man who fixed the 1919 world series, like Hyman Roth says in GF II. he paid off eight players from the Chicago Black Sox, who were the better team, but the players were underpaid.
I don't think Ace Rothstein from Casino has any connection with him. by the way, I'm watching Casino right now for the second time. the first time I liked it, but I hope it get some better.
