In the Godfather, they mention a few people (Sollozo, Jack Woltz) as pezzovante 's and .90 calibur's. Someone please explain these assumed Sicilian terms to a redneck white-boy. Thanks in advance.
Pezzanovante means big shot (I think non-Italian) who thinks he has muscle and can take on the Mob--or at least that is what it means in the context of the novel. A big shot, just like a .90 calibre gun would give!
