I just posted on the GF thread regarding Michael having Fredo killed and didn't know whether to include this question there or start a new post. Since my post was so lengthy, I thought I'd start a new thread.

I am guessing Turnbull will know, but anyone feel free to jump in. My question is this: Has there ever been a real life Italian mafia/mob boss who either killed or had killed their own parent(s) or sibling? If so, how common is it??

I say "Italian" mob boss only because I am more familiar with Italian culture than any other foreign culture and am curious, knowing how tight their "family bonds" can be, how often this happens.

That's a good question TIS. I haven't heard of any such thing hapening. But like you said Turnbull might be better able to answer this than I.

Great question Stallionette!! I can't think of any but there are quite a few cases of Brother in laws, stepsons etc being killed. Not necessarry blood related, but blood related to a loved one. Sammy The Bull had his wifes brother killed. I think even Meyer Lansky had his stepson murdered. Sorry I can't think of any people being killed on orders of their own blood relatives.

Lansky's stepson was murdered, but not on Meyer's orders:
Richard Schwartz, the stepson, ran a Florida restaurant. He was a loudmouth who traded on his stepfather's reputation, much to Meyer's dismay. He got into an argument with Craig Teriaca, son of a Mob-connected bookie, and shot and killed him. He was arrested for murder. Lansky's wife (Schwartz's mom) tried to get him to raise bail, but Meyer said he'd be safer in jail. He was. Schwartz raised bail on his own, and was killed with a shotgun blast soon after he got out.

Ah thanks for the correction Mr Turnbull Sir (said in the voice of Sam from Lord of the Rings).
