Being originally from Rhode Island and knowing a wiseguy or two in the eighties and nineties, I occasionally read up on what's going on with cosa nostra there and I came across an excerpt from the book "rogue mobster" by Mark Silverman. He alleges that he was made by the Patriarca family. I ordered the book today butI'm really impatient and I was wondering if anyone had any info on this. The Patriarca family, from what I understood had never had any non Italian made members. In fact I was always led to believe that they were extremely wary about even doing much business non Italians.

I doubt it. I've read the book and have personally met a few characters in the book. My thoughts is that he was a typical 90's coke dealer selling drugs for some of the various crews mentioned in the book and therefore did know some inside stuff but never was even close to made. I think he is saying that from a marketing and an ego standpoint. But aside from this, the book was an excellent read and was interesting to me knowing some of the rumors that were going around at that time actually being spoken within the book. I think you'll like it regardless of Mark being made or not.

SILVERMAN WAS A JOKE AND A NOBODY... THE GUYS HE WROTE ABOUT WERE ON THE RISE IN THE 90'S... HE WAS NEVER MADE IN PATRIARCA LCN... HE IS SAYING THAT CAUSE HE GREW UP WITH BILLY ANGLESCO WHO IS HALF IRISH AND WAS MADE IN NEW ENGLAND LCN... BECAUSE HES A BUTTON MAN... the guys in the book were for most part the real deal anthony barry, paul decologero, niel mazza , lonnie hilson, billy angelesco, gigi portalla gene giangrande, theres also a bunch of low level local guys he writes about that arent really worth putting in a book... i hate gicving that fake junkie money but its a story about guys whos story hasnt been told yet..... he also mentions old timers like peter limone, and danny anguilo just becuase he grew up with there kids. therres one thing though about gigi's crew in revere/everett and barrys crew in medford/malden they did alot of violent things that was more rare in the 90's but oo soo common in the 60's-80's. he also writes abou a local Pimp who had a succesful prostituon ring mucka mccromick. there just the younger crowd whos story hasnt been told yet. TRUST ME I KNOW ALL TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS SUBJECT.

he was also friends with joe donahue who was the nephew of original WINTER HILL GANG member joe macdonald.. one of the original members dating back to the 60's. one of his grlfriends was howie winters niece too... he just was a hangaround nobody... thats why he moved to florida and wrote marked card and rogue mobster.

ill do a posting of the younger guys from revere, medford and somerville one of these days... and the 3 dozen violent things they were tied too. some of these guys were the ones behind the guns in the 90's wars.
