HOLYOKE - Eleven people were arrested after a multiagency team of police raided a La Familia street gang stronghold early Friday and seized guns, drugs and $38,000 in cash at a 556 South Bridge St. apartment building infamous to police.

A caravan of marked and unmarked police vehicles arrived in South Holyoke at the four-story brick building, which is down the street from Morgan School, just before 5:45 a.m.

Officers in helmets and green fatigues entered the building and led people out to a Holyoke police van for the next half hour in an investigation police said features "an ongoing and open war" between the La Familia and Latin Kings gangs.

assumed it was Springfield when i saw the topic name. la familia just as big in holyoke

are they also from new york originally like the latin kings?

not sure. but i believe they are more of a local gang, springfield-holyoke
