Our Gov. extended the lockdown in AZ for another two weeks. I agree, as cases are still growing here.

We live in a low-population-density county. Biggest impact on my wife and me is that the pool that we used for our main cardio is closed and will be through May. So is the gym we use. I've been making do by alternating running and biking on a stationary recumbent that I bought from Amazon. I made a "home gym" out of a set of springs, a dowel and brackets, but I'd much prefer using the gym, when it reopens. I'd prefer using the gym recumbents to mine. But: while it'll be easy to social distance on the free weights and machines, I'm wary of using the gym bikes because they're in a room with all the other cardio machines, and people will be huffing and puffing like crazy.

Our Governor ends the lockdown tomorrow. Restaurants can reopen if they severely limit occupancy; the same for non-essential businesses. Gyms don't qualify and that is giving me agita. I am working out with light dumbbells and jogging.

DALLAS (AP) — American Airlines lost $2.24 billion in the first quarter as the coronavirus pandemic triggered a sharp drop in air travel, and the airline is taking steps to survive but as a smaller carrier.

American disclosed Thursday that revenue fell 19% while costs continued to rise even as the virus spread.

The situation facing the airline industry has grown more dire since the first quarter ended, as air travel in the U.S. during April remained down 95% from a year ago, judging by the number of people screened at the nation's airports.

“Never before has our airline, or our industry, faced such a significant challenge,” Chairman and CEO Doug Parker said.

The Fort Worth, Texas-based airline has cut its flying schedule by 80% in April and May and 70% in June. It has grounded hundreds of planes, retiring some of them permanently.

A woman plunged 115 feet to her death while posing near the edge of a cliff for a photo to celebrate the end of a Covid-19 lockdown in Turkey.

Olesya Suspitsyna, who is originally from Kazakhstan but was working in Turkey as a tour guide, was visiting the Duden Park in Antalya with a friend on Sunday.

The 31-year-old climbed over a safety fence to pose for the picture in front of the park's famous waterfalls when she slipped on the grass and fell to her death.

The friends wanted to celebrate the end of a weekend curfew imposed by the Turkish government on April 10, which is part of the country's Covid-19 lockdown measures.

Suspitsyna was pronounced dead at the scene, with police declaring it an accident.

That's a good one. That just made me remember what a kid in the neighborhood said to their parents back in mid April. Lol.

Just to update you guys, I lost my father to coronavirus about 2 weeks ago, he went in for a mild stroke and caught corona while in the hospital , my father and sister lived together and my sister don't have it, I was forced to make a decision of creating my father of hurrying him in an unmarked grave next to five other strangers, I chose to cremate him. In these types of situations the last time you see your loved one is before they go to the hospital because they don't allow visitors so there's no closure. My heart goes out to people who lost loved ones to the coronavirus

i saw a story that they found bodies in an un-refrigerated u haul. people called in stating there was an awful stench coming from the trucks.

Very sorry to hear about your loss thebigfella. I have a friend going through something similar. He hasn’t passed but I spent the night at their place on Saturday night and Sunday morning before I left the wife (it’s a married couple) got a call that her father was in the hospital with it. He had been sick for a few days and his wife finally convinced him to go and he came up positive for it. Said he may need to be on a ventilator soon but apparently he was receiving some kind of plasma that was showing encouraging signs. So we’ll see what happens. Praying he makes it through as she just lost her mother 2 years ago.

I wish no one was going through what you are, starting with you. So many tragedies...

It's even worse that the person dying is all alone since no one can visit them and the family can't even say goodbye. I don't know what I would do if I were put in that situation?
