A 47-year-old carpenter, Francesco Paolo Lombardino , was killed overnight in the Cep district of Palermo. The victim was shot and wounded in the home, shot in the leg, and died after being transported to hospital.

The ambush took place in via Zumbo. Lombardino's relatives were heard by the Palermo mobile team investigating the case: they told investigators that the victim, around three in the morning, would go down from home to check the car when he was hit by a bullet in the leg.

According to indiscretions, the story provided by the carpenter's relatives would not have convinced the investigators who are listening to other neighbors to seek confirmation of the version of the facts provided.
