Police and the FBI arrested a Massachusetts man in Saco early Friday morning, officials tell WMTW News 8.

William "Billy" Angelesco, 48, of Middleton, Massachusetts, faces charges of interfering with commerce by threats or violence and aiding or abetting.

The alleged crime happened in September 2018 in Plymouth County, officials said.

A warrant for Angelesco's arrest was issued in Massachusetts on Wednesday, records said.

Court records available Friday did not clearly indicate details about the allegations, only accusing Angelesco of receiving "personal property belonging to and in the possession of John Doe, against his will, by means of actual and threatened force, and violence, and fear of injury, immediate and future, to his person and property and property in his custody and possession."

Angelesco was due in court Friday.

They've been after Billy for 20 years he's the last Stone Cold killer to come out of the Boston Mafia... Stabbed a guy to death in a bar in Malden then goes back later and stabs the bar owner to death because he won't stand up then blows away a Rhode Island associate at The Squire in Revere Massachusetts in front of a full bar mostly Hells Angels and nobody saw anything well that's not true they saw a fat woman and they saw black man etc...he for a blond wig they found shell casings in the back of his car his own cousin testified against him and he still beat the case.

Definitely a serious guy. I hear he is a favorite of CD. He was acquitted of a murder at the Squire (a strip Club). The murder occurred inside in front of 100 witnesses and he was acquitted.
Not sure there is anyone in the Boston area that is more feared then him.

Dangerous as hell and when he was running around Medford, Everett, Malden, North End in the late 90's early 00's you didnt want to see him come into the room. Actually the bar owner was shot in the head in his house while Angelesco was in jail. He was subpoenaed to testify in the stabbing case, and someone obviously thought he wouldn't hold up. One article said an associate of Angelesco was seen near the house around that time, probably don't have to do the math to figure that one out. He then pulled out of a plea deal shortly after that murder. Rumor has it that he may have been the trigger man in the Somerville hit that put Anthony Barry and Cahill away for life.

Are you talking about Michael Romano sr and jr? He’s been out for a while. He shot that guy in broad daylight at a payphone in Maverick Square I think. Said aloud and clear that this is for Michael Junior.

Been home almost 5 years, doing things right with his kids es..he didn’t sue btw his family did and I believe it was tossed out...regarding mark Rossetti he’s either out and in Florida or will be out any day and going there..Steven Rossetti mark cousin got sentence reduction and immediate release in early October,...in my humble opinion, vinny doesn’t have final say..he’s in Florida almost 80 percent and enjoys himself...as he should...

PMAC thank you. I’m not local this weekend so I haven’t spoken to anyone. Even if I was I am not sure he is someone whose name I would mention. You mentioned DB as a rival of his regarding hits, I think that’s fair.
I will check Pacer when I return tomorrow. I will absolutely share whatever I find. I think the feds would indict him for absolutely anything so it’s anyone’s guess whether this was a big institutional extortion or he was leaning on someone on a personal level.
For the twenty years I have been around I have heard of no one in New England that could rival him in the Boston area. I’ve been told to cross the street if he approaches.

Furio, Patriarcas still run one of, if not, the biggest books anywhere. With all that cash they remain strong and absolutely feared and respected. I am a former state prosecutor. I worked on that case where PL was indicted after he was released from the feds for gaming. They all got probation. I will never forget at his arraignment how many people appeared to support him in Superior Court. Was unbelievable. Had to be close to a hundred people.

November 22, 2019 — Reputed Boston mob soldier Billy (The Angel) Angelesco was arrested by the FBI in Maine this week for extortion and robbery. His pending case is out of U.S. District Court in Boston and per the indictment stems from an incident in September 2018 that occurred in Abington, Massachusetts.

It’s not his first rodeo either. Law enforcement in New England are quite familiar with Billy the Angel’s wiseguy resume.

The 48-year old Angelesco is alleged to be a “made” man in the Boston wing of the New England mafia, also known as the Patriarca crime family. He faces up to 20 years in prison if found guilty in his current case.

The FBI tabs Angelesco as a top enforcer for Patriarca boss Carmen (The Big Cheese) DiNunzio, who oversees the crime family from his Gemini Social Club in Boston’s North End. Federal authorities also suspect Billy the Angel acts as a key messenger for DiNunzio, used to relay messages to other family shot callers outside of the Greater Boston area. FBI surveillance teams have followed Angelesco from Boston to Rhode Island where he met with Patriarca powers in Providence just hours after being seen with DiNunzio.

Back in 2008, Angelesco was convicted of extortion in state court tied to a bookmaking operation he was running for DiNunzio and did four years behind bars. Three years before that, he walked away unscathed from a first-degree murder charge, acquitted in the December 2001 slaying of nightclub manager Pete DeVito at the Squire Lounge in Revere, Massachusetts. According to testimony at Angelesco’s 2005 trial, Angelesco shot and killed DeVito execution style in front of a group of horrified onlookers as revenge for DeVito punching him and tossing him out of a strip club the previous summer.

Just months before DeVito was murdered, Angelesco attacked a mob-protected associate for assaulting a friend of his and was ordered to a sit down at a Pizzeria Uno location in Revere to account for his actions, according to court records. At the sit down, Boston mobster Connie Frizzi (d. 2011) ordered Angelesco pay his victim’s medical bills, per the account.
