Vinnitta-The birth of the Detroit Mafia by Daniel Waugh. Very interesting and quite informative of the seminal years of the Detroit Mafia. It deals with the teen's and early '20s and how the Detroit Mafia evolved into the potent force it ultimately became. The kindle edition is 12.99 on amazon.I'm halfway through it. Great read!
I kinda thought the midwest mafia is dead but with all that stuff happening in toronto and hamilton... its out the midwest in my brain. They have to have point men inthe states
Detroit is an extremely interesting family. They seem to be a bit of an independent family pretty much on their own. Imagine the number of riches the Detroit family have extracted over the years! If you read VINNITTA I think you will be amazed by the amount of mayhem and betrayal that occurred during the early years.
Joe zerilli ran important errands for the commission back in the 50/60s. The guy/family was still ultra respected but was not considered the same level of independence that the 5 families and Chicago had. Tony accordo wouldn’t be running errands for the commission if you get my drift.
However nobody could tell Detroit what to do in Detroit. Family was/is on lock with the blood ties and all that
