Montreal mobster Salvatore Scoppa assassinated

May 5, 2019 By TheBoss

Salvatore Scoppa an influential member of the Montreal mafia was shot to death at the Sheraton Laval Hotel according to reports.

It’s uncertain as to how many times he was shot or where but multiple sources reported that he was killed. The police confirmed that shots were fired in the area but could not confirm any other reports at this time. Scoppa had been targeted before by rival mobsters but somehow survived although it seems his luck has finally run out. Salvatore and his brother Andrew Scoppa controlled a powerful Calabrian mob clan and had emerged as key players in the Mafia in Montreal during the bloody Montreal mafia war which dismantled the once powerful Rizzuto crime family.  This seems like a clear sign that the unrest within the Montreal underworld continues and that more bloodshed may be on the way.  Whoever is behind this attack could also target Andrew who is known to be the more influential of the two.

It’s clear that when it comes to the mafia both in Montreal and elsewhere things have changed drastically since the death of Vito Rizzuto. The Scoppa’s like many others had ties to Vito and the former Rizzuto hierarchy but had fallen out of favor with the families new leaders including alleged boss Stefano Sollecito according to a secretly recorded conversation during Project Magot. In one meeting between Sollecito, Leonardo Rizzuto, and street gang leader Gregory Woolley they discussed the Scoppa brothers and how they were no longer trusted even though they once had ties to Vito.

Could Sollecito and what remains of the Rizzuto family be striking back at their enemies in an effort to re-establish control? Things have been relatively quiet in Montreal over the last several months but the death of Scoppa could spur another round of violence. Perhaps reports of the Rizzuto families demise have been a bit premature? A deadly mafia-linked attack in Hamilton that included Montrealers left some wondering if there were possible ties to Montreal mob and in particular the Rizzuto clan. The murder of Salvatore Scoppa is sure to bring with it more theories of a Rizzuto-Sollecito family resurgence.

At this point, anything seems possible and it’s hard to keep track of who has been left standing and who is hitting who and for what reasons. Further updates will follow as the investigation into the Salvatore Scoppa shooting gets underway.

They’re dropping like flies up there. The Rizzutos are definitely not going out with out a fight.

The hit parade continues. Canada need RICO alongside some heavier penalties.

I swear, Canada organized crime is so chaotic. So many alliances and broken alliances. So hard to tell what exactly is going on. 15 years from now when all this is figured out, Adrian Humphreys or Antonio Nicaso are going to be able to write at least 3 books.

No Canada does not. The RICO laws and the CCE laws are a complete and utter scam. I’m all for punishing someone for a crime but to punish someone for something someone else does and using rats that committed more heinous crimes as the way to bring someone down is just wrong. It’s why you are starting to see the Feds lose a few cases here and there these days. Most legitimate people feel the use of rats is wrong. That is ultimately what RICO and CCE was designed for. Threaten HUGE sentences to get people to flip. It’s disgusting.

If they stick to local protection rackets, construction, unions, white collar scams etc, they would be fine. International cocaine trafficking is just a cut-throat world.

Believe it or not Canada actually is a very peaceful place to live in. Most areas anyway.

Correct me if i’m wrong.

I dont think Canada is equiped to have a system like RICO.
Because, the prison system is different than is the US. I dont know how it is in Europe.

But in Canada, we dont have private prisons. Everytime, a person go to jail or prison, its the population that must pay for the prisoner.
So Canada is not a populous country with a population of 37 millions hab. with many of them being under the age of 18 or already retired.

So Canada dont have the tools tomgive many times, 100 years to a criminal.

True def compared to the USA. The same goes for Holland, but in the underworld it can be brutal because both countries have a huge drug economy.

Nice. Love Montreal very fun city I have family there. I don't like Quebec that much though even though my favourite hockey team was the Nordiques.

Yep as far as jobs Ontario is great especially if you are educated. But I will tell you the housing market is ridiculous if you don't have half a mill you cant even get a bloody townhome in the greater Toronto area.

And that’s being generous, most suburban property is upwards of a mil, unless you are in somewhere like rexdale or out in the sticks like Tottenham or Whitby stoufville

Yeah i saw that. The price of the houses are crazy.
A house in the suburb of Montreal, you will find the same house three time the price in the region of Toronto.

The Netherlands is definitely a peaceful place, but its underworld is arguably one of the more murderous ones in Western Europe. It's alsof a remarkably "rich" underworld. A ton of different groups set up shop in the Netherlands.

What's going on with Holland and the red light district I heard they are trying to stop it from being such a tourist spot. Is that true?

Fair point jshov. Maybe not Rico then. But they need something as that level of murder crazy. I don’t care about a lot of money based crime but murder is something else. And the casual way they popping people is too much. The amount of families ripped apart isn’t on

Not as far as I know. I do think they will enforce more control though. Right now a lot of tourists - often young guys - are drunkenly strolling down that district puking and urinating in the streets.
