The gunman wanted to date Cali's niece.. she was inside the house when the murder occurred. US World Herald are actually pretty decent, they were one of the few that didn't finger Gene Gotti.
Who, media or feds, "fingered" Gene Gotti as his killer? There is a difference between hypothesising and being accusatory. Gotti is a criminal in the same crime family who was released 6 months before the highest profile mob murder in approximately thirty years. You would have to be a moron to think his name wouldn't be thrown around in the aftermath of something like this. By all means if he had left prison and started a new career as a shoemaker like Daniel Day-Lewis then it would be strange, but he continued being active in mob activities behind bars, and it's common knowledge that he's carried on where he left off since being released. Of course all of this would be irrelevant if that rat, Junior Gotti, and his sister weren't constantly keeping the name alive in the media year after year. They have no right to complain about the press bringing the name Gotti into the spotlight when they are the primary reason the Gotti name still resonates. It's a marketing tool for them at this stage.

Damn. I was very invested in this as a mob hit. Now reading all this, I find myself feeling pissed off and upset because the murder is over his niece dating this guy? And then this young guy kills her uncle? Color me soft but I just feel for Cali and his family. (Who were in the fucking house at the time god dammit I’m pissed sorry) Maybe he shouldn't have butted in to his adult niece's personal life. Does he still tell his Meemaw who she can and can't date too? "Meemaw, you can't date Norman from the senior center. He has false teeth and a hearing aid. He's not good enough for you meemaw."

As a father to daughters, and as an Uncle to nieces I do care about who is in the lives of family members. We Italians are patriarchal and Franky Boy i believe was born in Sicily and raised in Bensonhurst. We don’t know the story probably the the killer was a piece of shit which is now very obvious. Maybe his niece didn’t want anything to do with this dude and he was bothering her. I think the reason why franks family didn’t want to release the video was they knew who did it and were going to take care of the problem in an honorable way. A white death.[/quote] I don't know. If I had a niece about whom I cared deeply, and some loser guy was trying to court her or get close to her, I'd probably step in somewhat, especially if she didn't have a father around or involved in her life. Young females need protection and oversight that young men don't need. I know how scummy people can be, but young men (with all that bravado and testosterone and insecurity) are often especially problematic. Comello is obviously a nut though considering what he did, and that could have happened to anybody -- but it just happened to occur against a high-level mob guy. This guy's days are obviously numbered though, so justice should arrive rather quickly.
