The clip in the video you posted was from the Mafia’s Greatest Hits episode ‘Downfall’ and it also has some others with Avellino and Corallo. It has them talking about making their sons ‘if the life is good enough for you...why wouldn’t we want it for our sons’ conversation.

It also has Corallo talking about whacking guys in the junk business to make examples.

The Lords of the Mafia episode on the Lucchese family has a wiretap talking about Andy Russo making his sons which led them into the conversation I mentioned earlier.

Thanks the docu I watched on VHS was older, it was very good.

He had a special relation with Accetturo for some reason. Amuso was a major narcotics trafficker so I can see why Tony Ducks wasn´t a fan.

Tony Ducks wanted Anthony Luongo as boss and Anthony Accetturo as underboss. Corallo was not a big fan of Amuso, besides him being a major drug dealer, it is said it had to do with Amuso being with the Gallo brothers during the first Colombo war. He was ok with Casso being in an administration position as Gaspipe knew the in and out of the rackets, both being feared and a major earner for the family. Once Anthony Luongo was killed, Corallo abandoned the setup he wanted and told Christy Tic that Gaspipe can be his successor. However Casso declined in favor of Amuso becoming boss, and by that time Corallo did not care it seemed about the crime family, so he did not vote it down. Macaluso was the underboss and Migliore had maintained communication with Tony Ducks. During the Amuso and Casso purge, many members who were loyal to Corallo, and remained in the Bonx and Manhattan were killed or attempts made on their lives.

That's funny. Because usually when someone turns down the boss position it's because they want to fly under the radar and dodge any heat but Casso was front and center with Amuso, virtually inseparable when Amuso was on top, and then later did things to undermine Amuso. Some say it was Casso that ratted out Amuso's location to the feds so he could take the #1 position. But by then I guess he had nothing to lose because he knew the Feds were closing in on him too.

Basically if his reasons for turning down the boss position were to lay low he didn't do a good job of it. He basically used the power he already had as carte blanch to settle scores and remove Amuso's rivals.

The Vincent Gigante was the driving force, but Tony Ducks wanted his family to personally take on the contract. Killing a Boss was a big no no, and ducks wanted to send a message. He was against the explosive device but ultimately went with the Chins plan. It was supposed to be Gotti, but when Frankie D was seen with Frankie Hearts, the hit team mistook Frankie Hearts as Gotti. Only to find out later that Gotti was not at the event. Tony Ducks was angry one of his own got hurt, but was satisfied on Frankie D, so he pulled back some, and whatever the Chin did was on his own, but the Chin still had Amuso and Casso doing the dirty work at chipping away Gottis loyal and dangerous members in his inner circle therefore weakening Gotti.
