A former key figure of the Mexican Sinaloa cartel was delivered to the United States last Friday. He may become an important witness in the trial against Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman. Dámaso López Núñez (52), alias "El Licenciado" used to have a top position in the Mexican prison system.

A few days ago Jesús Elías Ochoa Bojórquez , alias El Chabelo was shot dead he was very close to El Licenciado. He was in hiding after he fled Sinaloa because of the feud with the Chapo sons.

The son of 'Chapo' Guzmán would have lived several months in Colombia. an informant from Colombian security agencies who also works for the DEA and the FBI confirmed that "Alfredillo" arrived in Colombia, after he was released from his kidnapping in Puerto Vallarta in August 2016. by a rival group of the Sinaloa Cartel.
Jesús Alfredo Guzmán Salazar, who was included in the list of the 10 most wanted by the DEA last month, arrived in Medellín two years ago. Authorities investigate whether he returned to Mexico or stays in another Colombian city.

The Public Prosecutor in Brooklyn (New York) wants to sue the Mexican Joaquín Guzmán Loera alias El Chapo for (among other things) 33 murders. On Tuesday, the judge who started to deal with the case from November onwards called that number 'far too much'. The 33 liquidations would have been ordered by Guzmán when he was leader of the drug cartel of Sinaloa.

Holland i dont think we do that in the usa you have to be arrested on extradited. They dont do trials for someone whose never been caught. They do that in italy i seen absentia or whatever that word is

El Chapo's defense is to increase the role of El Mayo and to put him before the jury as the de facto leader of the cartel.

The defense wants to show that the Sinaloa cartel under El Mayo and El Chapo was in cahoots with the American Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and two Mexican presidents: Felipe Calderón and Enrique Peña Nieto.
