Interesting current mob rumors out of Southwestern Wisconsin: - Kenosha https://shepherdexpress.com/arts-and-entertainment/books/mobsters-cream-city/For legal reasons I can’t name any specific names, but at least a handful of ‘made men’ still live in Milwaukee. The bulk of organized crime in the state today is centered in Kenosha but don’t count Milwaukee out just yet—The Mafia is a candle that’s hard to snuff out. Kenosha is 12% Italian, lots of Calabrese people. They kept moving there well into the 1970’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Ndrangheta uses it as a quiet off-the-radar “bank town†(a location for money laundering, not for street-level rackets) similarly to Thunder Bay, Ontario. - Racine http://streetcarnage.com/blog/word-on-the-street-why-do-we-wear-italian-horns/ I think Italians in Racine went downhill when DeRango’s got busted. I remember Joe Athens and his crazy mom. He went down in PA with a van full of money he was laundering for the mob. So his mom had his mansion and everything while he was locked up. At least the ballistrieris still have the loot.
So much of the SE WI mob was not even italian. One of the leaders of the Keno mob was a guy named Oberlin.
