Murder in Laval: the victim would be linked to the Hells Angels

Vena is known to police and has a history of narcotics and violence. In the mid-2000s, he was sentenced to four years of penitentiary for attempted murder, assault with a weapon and conspiracy in the territory of Mascouche. His last criminal history dates back to 2010, when he was sentenced to six months in prison suspended for marijuana trafficking.

According to our information, Vena was involved in drug trafficking with the Hells Angels, particularly in the territory of Abitibi. Sources also tell us that he would be close to a member of the Hells Angels section of Sherbrooke.

"At 8:00 pm last night, the Laval police received a call from a restaurant on Lévesque Boulevard in Laval for a man with at least one firearm projectile. The victim was taken to hospital where his death was found. The investigation, initiated by the Laval police, was transferred to the Sûreté du Québec as there are links with organized crime, "said Sergeant Claude Denis of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

According to our information, Vena was initially shot with at least one firearm projectile outside the restaurant. He then ran inside the establishment, the Fusion restaurant, to take refuge there, but would have been joined by the shooter who would have continued his work of death before leaving the place.

For the moment, the police have no description of a suspect.

The Crime Against the Person investigators of the Sûreté du Québec do not rule out any hypothesis including a settling of accounts in the purest tradition of organized crime.

The SQ dispatched its mobile command post to the crime scene.
