I'm not gonna touch the getting turned on while reading the book part with a ten foot pole.. but Lucy is supposed to be rather "plain", I guess, because it's the old style. She may not be strikingly beautiful, but she'd be a good wife and mother, which is what counts. Looks ain't everything, ya know.

In the movie, they were kind of trying to make her look like a slut. Which why such a powerful man like Sonny would be cheating with a slut, I don't know, but I think they wanted her to not look so good. They didn't want her to be ugly, but not neccesarily beautiful. Which I just thought of something...why was she in the wedding party? I mean Sonny was cheating on his wife with his sister's friend??? That seems really weird. Who knows, maybe it was his cousin (forshadowing his son and Marie). I'm joking, I'm joking, don't worry.
P.S.-I doubt Puzo was aiming for his readers to get turned on my his book...just my opinion though.
