Did anyone else notice in the family shot at the beginning of GF 3. Anthony is standing with his body facing Kay and his back turned to Michael. Is this intentionally showing his renunciation of "the life", as Kay has always represented a sense of reason. If anyone else has any other observations about this shot, please share.

My second observation is this. Someone in a recent thread posted that Bobby Duvall remarked the reason he didn't do GF 3 is because of financial reasons. He furthermore joked by saying they spent the money they saved on him on a staircase. Is this the staircase he was referring to?

I never really noticed that observation, but The Godfather is full of little analogies like that.
And my guess is that the staircase is the staircase good ol' Duvall was talking aboy-considering how luxurious it is.

Imagine that trading Duvall for a staircase. What a crying shame .
