Again it is very hard to get financing.

My sons friend makes and acts in his movies. I invested in his first movie because it was shot here in Brooklyn low budget. The script made me laugh and if it hit. I could make almost 20 times what I invested. It did hit so I was happy. He was not as happy because he and his two friends made a little name for themselves in the biz. But they made very little money from it smile

Saw him years later at my sons birthday party. Started to talk movies with him. I said he should get in touch with my friend Johnny about being in it snd he knows some guys to help with financing.

I guess he did not like the way it would be financed so he did not do it. We want artist to be concerned about the art but not to worry about the money

So true. It's hit or miss, most of the time it's a miss. That's why you can't quit your day job until you get that one big break. Tough line of work. I know someone in that business too. Hopefully one day he will get his lucky break.

It also made a great musical. A friend of mine starred in it. For whatever reason the run lasted only 1 year. If it every opens again go see it. I know I will.

You can buy the original broadway music on iTunes.

Do not buy the concept cd.

I was just looking through the list of SNL hosts and musical guests since its inception. There's so many to comment about. I'll pick one musical guest just to start things off: Leon Redbone. How many of you remember him? I love his performances.

I forgot to watch SNL last night (stopped watching it years ago) but wanted to see this one. The actor from Oz was the host. Schillinger. I bet they did one funny skits. Did anyone watch it?

Does this ring a bell:"This is my brother Daryl and this is my other brother Daryl"

From the Bob Newhart Show, the actors who played the two Darryls—Tony Papenfuss, 62, a native of Minneapolis, Minn., and John Voldstad, 61, a native of n Oslo, Norway—are touring in a stage comedy, “Deer Camp: The Musical.” Their TV brother Larry is William Sanderson, 64, a Memphis, Tenn., native, who has appeared in the several movies, including “Blade Runner,” “The Client” and “Last Man Standing,” and in the miniseries “Lonesome Dove.” More recently, he co-starred in the TV series “Deadwood,” “Bar Karma” and portrayed Sheriff Bud Dearborne on “True Blood.”

I actually like a few of his movies. I think Time Cop is my favorite but I also liked Nowhere To Run and a couple other titles I can't remember.

Bloodsport is a kickass movie to watch with a pizza and no distractions.

See that's the thing about movies not everyone likes the same thing. Didn't you think it had a happy ending? I did my wife didn't. I do think they should have named the movie the Explorer.

Like many similar movies, it failed to move or even strike a response other than meh from me, the subject matter has been completely mined for its emotional worth and i'm even past the point of finding it funny like you do. Hollywood has dealt with the Holocaust; ad naueseum, the last 'War Weepy' that gained any emotion from me about the subject was The White Ribbon, which was made by Michael Haneke a directer that holds open contempt towards his audience (see Funny Games).

It's a decent film, with a tragic ending, i suppose the Dad got his comeuppance for all the jews he put to death. The stranger thing about the film was how they all spoke in English..

There was a lot in the movie that was not real to me.

They all spoke English English like you said.

That kid prisoner had a lot of free time on his hands. No guards or other prisoners around.

They gave him a wheel barrel he never had anything in it.

That same kid finds his way into the commandant's house. He gets caught eating food by an SS guard their driver. He yells at the commandants son. That is not a good way to get ahead.

The German kid said he did not give the kid food. With friends like him who needs enemies.

The kid turns up he is not dead just a little booboo near his eye.

The wife changed after she saw the the temper of her husband. Like she never saw it before?

The German kid was never brain washed by the father as yet?

Yes they tried to make it a tear jerker. My wife was shocked at the ending.

I did what I always did at the ending emotionally on tragic events I asked her to bring me in some veal parm.

They showed this movie in class to my kid she's in 8th grade. She said the whole class was left STUNNED and SPEECHLESS at the end of the movie. It was a rude awakening for them.

Anyone catch Hawaii Five O last night? I was surprised to see Michael Imperioli (Sopranos) I barely recognized him. He's so much older and a little heavier.
